"My home has a chimney that was unsafe to use (cracked masonry liner). I dreaded the time and cost of a tear down and replacement. I contacted "Shamrock Chimney" and scheduled an appointment with their lead technician "Tony". He suggested a less costly and safer alternative (steel liner and a resealing of the outer brickwork. The work was performed over a two-day period. I am fully satisfied with the results. One thing I really apricate is the communication during the project. The "front office" would let me know by either phone or email when the project would start, and then Tony and would give me updates. All and all the whole process went smoothly. Also, this was my first time with "Angi", I hope to use their services again in the future."
I’m Christian. I have been working in all or some fields that u have read for 35 years. Born into a family of Masons. I’m a third generation mason in my family. I specialize in hardscapes and landscaping but not limited to any type of masonry work. I have a window screen repair company currently. Moves into the area little less than a year ago. Trying to figure out what I want to do down here in North Carolina. I learned everything I know from doing and watching work side by side with my dad, uncle and my older brother. Anyway I’m available to work. Ready to take care of someone’s project large or small no matter what it is.

You have several energy-efficient options for masonry work in NC. Contractors use insulated concrete masonry units and brick veneer over insulated framing to meet state energy codes. Thermal mass walls reduce your heating and cooling loads in our mixed-humid climate. Choose locally sourced brick and stone from the Carolinas to reduce transportation impacts. Build with flood-resilient designs to minimize long-term material waste in flood-prone areas.

A major mistake during masonry work in Lumberton is ignoring proper drainage behind retaining walls and foundations. High water tables cause severe hydrostatic pressure damage. Never skip required county permits or ignore flood zone compliance standards. Avoid using hard cement mortars on older, soft brick, as this causes premature joint failure. Always schedule a professional foundation inspection immediately after a flood to catch hidden structural damage early.

The timeline for masonry work in NC depends heavily on the weather. High summer humidity extends mortar cure times, while heavy rain causes work stoppages. A chimney repair takes one to three days, while a new brick veneer requires two to four weeks. A full foundation rebuild takes four to eight weeks. Always factor in extra time for county permit processing and post-hurricane scheduling delays.

To keep your masonry work strong in Lumberton, you must prioritize moisture control. High humidity and occasional flooding mean you should apply waterproofing sealants every three to five years. Inspect your foundation after heavy rainfall. Treat mold and mildew promptly, and remove white salt deposits called efflorescence. Repoint cracked mortar joints to prevent damage from the local freeze-thaw cycles, and check your chimney cap after winter ice storms.

Always hire a licensed contractor for masonry work in Lumberton. Verify the professional carries general liability and workers' compensation insurance that covers water-related damage. Choose someone with proven experience building to FEMA floodproofing standards. Ask for references from local projects that have withstood our humidity and flooding. Confirm the contractor understands local building codes and pulls all required county permits before starting your project.
