Customers say: Quick response

"Mr. Pope and his team came to my residence in the morning to give me an estimate, cut a tree down to the stump, redistributed the crushed brick rocks that were around the tree to different flower beds, and ground the stump down, all before I got home from work. Amazing work and customer service!"

Small jobs welcome

"AJ HB took down 5 crepe Myrtle trees that were too near the house and sick with fungus. They ground the stumps, cut back some pampas grass and hauled away all the debris. Then I asked him to do our pine straw. He’s a hard worker, showed up when he said he would and gave us a fair price. Communication between us was very good and he’s super polite and aims to please the customer. Would definitely hire again."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

In Jacksonville, you can safely trim small branches under 2 inches in diameter, clear away fallen palm fronds, and add mulch to help retain soil moisture. Always use sharp, sanitized tools and wear protective gear, especially during hot, humid days. Watch for fire ants or snakes common in local yards. If you spot disease, storm damage, or branches near power lines, contact a certified tree service professional.

Helpful?

In Jacksonville, tree removal or major pruning can impact your home’s foundation, irrigation, and septic systems. Large roots may run beneath driveways or utility lines, so watch for new cracks, shifting pavers, or changes in water drainage after tree work. If you notice reduced water pressure, pooling water, or sudden dips in your yard, these could signal issues caused by recent tree service.

Helpful?

Schedule tree trimming or removal in Jacksonville if you notice storm-damaged limbs, trees leaning after heavy rain, or branches encroaching on power lines or roofs. Look for signs of pests like wood-boring insects or sudden leaf loss. The best times for major work are late winter or early spring, while post-hurricane season is ideal for removals. Annual inspections help identify hidden risks before they become urgent.

Helpful?

In Jacksonville, homeowners often overlook the need for tree removal permits, especially in coastal or historic districts. Attempting DIY tree trimming near power lines or on sandy, uneven ground increases accident risks. Many misjudge hurricane season timing, leading to rushed or unsafe work. Ignoring protected wildlife like gopher tortoises or failing to check for underground utilities can result in fines or property damage.

Helpful?

In Jacksonville, begin spring by inspecting for salt spray damage and early pest activity, especially from southern pine beetles. In summer, check for drought stress and prepare for hurricane winds by looking for weak limbs. Fall is ideal for assessing storm impact and planning tree trimming. In winter, inspect for root exposure due to shifting sandy soil. Keep a log of changes and adjust your routine after major storms.
