Customers say: True professional

"I can’t say enough about how awesome Dustin James is. I had a townhouse to sell that needed work. The tasks ranged from fixing a threshold to installing blinds and a ceiling fan. In addition, when the installers of the new countertops did not connect the plumbing, Dustin did that too. He accomplished all the tasks efficiently and effectively, and at a very reasonable cost. His extensive knowledge of construction was invaluable and meant the work didn’t drag on and was done flawlessly. Dustin also communicated extensively throughout the engagement. In fact, his work was done so well that our property went under contract the first day it was on the market. I cannot recommend Dustin enough. He is the best."

"A job well done despite the challenges of reach and access. The exhaust fan was 14 feet high and Manny had to get to it from the attic as well as from the bathroom to replace it. The new housing was a bit larger so it involved cutting a bit of the ceiling as well. All was accomplished very neatly in about two hours. Will definitely recommend and hire again!!!"

"After setting a start date Mr. Hargrove failed to show up and sent someone who we never met to pick up the installment pay. He was not knowledgeable about the job he was contracted to do. The railings were not installed correctly in fact it was a safety issue - if leaned on one could possibly knock it over. Called several times requesting him to repair, made false promises. To correct the problem we hired someone else to correct the job.

"Have used the business twice so far with excellent results both times. Patched drywall and painted the den as well as plumbing repairs in master bathroom and replace faucet in 2nd bathroom. I will definitely hire this company again."

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

The square footage of your room will dictate the correct ceiling fan blade size. For example:

  • Rooms smaller than 75 square feet require a fan that is 29 to 36 inches.

  • Rooms up to 175 square feet require 42- to 48-inch fans.

  • Rooms up to 350 square feet require 52- to 56-inch fans.

  • Expansive spaces over 350 square feet need a fan larger than 60 inches.

On average, a bathroom fan lasts between five and ten years. The fan's lifespan depends on its quality, installation, and frequency of use. You can extend its life with regular cleaning and by promptly addressing any issues. Common signs that you need a new fan include mold growth, a burning smell, unusually loud noises during operation, or lingering odors in the bathroom. If your fan is no longer working as well as it once did, consider replacing it. The cost to install a new bathroom fan is typically between $240 and $550.

WD-40 in its liquid or aerosol form is highly flammable. Using it around live electrical parts, such as a bath fan, can generate fire and a dangerous condition. However, if you follow proper safety procedures, including disconnecting the power to the fan before working on it, WD-40 can help remove some of the grime that builds up in your bath fan.

The average life span of a thermoelectric fan operating seasonally is two to three years. However, the life span of a wood stove fan depends on its quality, usage, and maintenance. Regular cleaning of the blades and ensuring the fan operates within its recommended temperature range can help prolong its life span.

Your bathroom exhaust fan shouldn't be loud. However, bath fans come in a wide variety of models, price points, and loudness characteristics, and yours may be louder or quieter than others you notice. Economy models tend to be the noisiest, with levels of 4.0 sones or more, which is about the sound of an electric shaver, while some high-end models can be barely audible.
