"Brian and Davis were amazing! They wrapped all of our furniture and moved it safely to our new home. They worked tirelessly carrying up our belongings and furniture up and down stairs. I'm amazed they moved us in 7 hours!"

"I had the best experience with All Service Moving! Mike and Stan absolutely rock - best moving team ever! They moved me into my new house from Sumner to Spanaway, then my mom a month later from Renton. They were so efficient, careful, professional and friendly. They made sure all our items were carefully wrapped and protected and they moved everything quickly, yet effortlessly - I wouldn't recommend anybody else to get you all settled into wherever your moving! Thank you guys!!"

"Easy Movers moved me from an apartment to a rental house and then a storage facility. They were on time, polite and efficient. I found them through Angi and chose them because they were willing to move my piano. Months later I planned a more permanent move and was pleased that Gena in the office and Don the estimator were still with the company. The 3 men who moved me were excellent each time. I highly recommend them."

Small jobs welcome

"Citywide Moving is the best!! Kathie was awesome to schedule my move for exactly when I needed it, instructed me on what to expect, and stayed in touch with me leading up to the move. My two movers were Jermaine and Wayne, and they were terrific as well. They took great care to protect all of my furniture and walls, and were speedy fast! If you need to hire professional movers, I highly recommend that you use Citywide!!"

"Highly recommend this company! We had a five hour move to a home with 28 stairs out front. The owner and packers were all fantastic. Very organized move from beginning to end. Movers kept in good spirits throughout the entire move, worked very quickly, and were extremely professional and polite. Every item was delivered unharmed!"

"I recently hired this company to move my two-bedroom apartment, and they did an amazing job from start to finish. The team arrived on time, worked efficiently, and handled all of my furniture and boxes with great care. They wrapped everything properly, made sure nothing was damaged, and even helped place items exactly where I wanted them in my new place. What really stood out was how friendly, patient, and professional the movers were the entire time. They made the whole process stress-free and way easier than I expected. If you?re looking for a reliable, hardworking moving company, I definitely recommend them. I?d hire them again without hesitation!"

"Making a 200 mile move after living in Charlotte in two homes for total of 40 years was scary. Fox worked with me every step of the process. We ran in to some hiccups on the closing of new property. We were unable to take delivery of our furniture as originally planned. Fox worked with me and made a very stressful situation doable. I highly recommend them."

"We loved the move crews on both ends of the move. Freddy and his team were awesome 👌 but the communication from the scheduling office was great in the beginning but totally fell apart just before and during the move. The move was totally under estimated and total internal miscommunication to the move team on what the move consisted of. It was thought to only be a load and move. Not the "White Glove" service we purchased to pack, load and move. So price was off and the move team was not fully prepared. Freddy and his team stepped up and made the move a success. Even made an extra run to the warehouse to get the packing materials needed and packed everything professionally so that everything arrived intact and timely. They lso made a special trip to get all our household goods to us within a week. But the moved totally started as a disaster. Make sure the planner fully understands everything that needs to be moved and estimates high enough to ensure you are covered and don't end up with a severely underestimated move price. Again hats off to the move team. But the company needs to rethink how they plan and schedule the moves. Especially out of state when there are deadlines associated with the move."

Moving questions, answered by experts

Yes, many companies offer vehicle relocation as part of their service packages.

When loading a moving truck, the general rule is to load the heaviest and largest items first to create a stable base at the front of the truck, which helps balance the weight. You can start with large furniture like sofas, beds, mattresses, and tables to form a solid foundation, or begin by placing your heaviest boxes against the truck's walls to create a base layer. After the base is set, continue loading other large items like appliances and square furniture. Lighter and smaller objects, including most of your boxes, should be loaded last. They can be packed into gaps, around, and on top of the heavier items to maximize space. Following this order makes unloading easier and helps prevent damage to your belongings.

To pack mugs securely for a move, start by lining the bottom of a moving box with padded packing material like bubble wrap. Wrap each mug individually, tucking the ends of the bubble wrap inside the mug for a snug fit. For extra protection, consider using a moving box with built-in slots to keep the mugs separated.

When placing the mugs in the box, pack them tightly enough to prevent them from shifting, but not so tightly that they are under pressure. Fill any empty gaps between the mugs with additional packing material. To keep the box from becoming too heavy, it's best to pack no more than 10 mugs per box. Finally, be sure to label the box as “fragile” so movers know to handle it with care.

Deciding whether it's worth it to hire movers depends on your budget, patience, and physical capabilities. It's difficult to gauge the amount of work that moving calls for, and it's easy to be off by about tenfold.

If you're able to call in some favors and round up friends to help, you might get through it just fine, but if you only have a few hands helping, things can quickly get overwhelming. Either way, bringing in the pros will save considerable time and stress, so if it's within your budget, it's a great investment.

How long it takes to move into an apartment depends on many factors, including the amount of belongings you’re bringing with you, how accessible the apartment is (do you have an elevator, or will you be walking up and down several flights of stairs with boxes?), and whether or not you’re hiring a moving company. Having said that, for a local one-bedroom apartment, it usually takes a moving company between two and five hours to move you in.
