"I needed a couple split rail fence posts replaced. Arranged w/Zac to get it done. Communication was super from the start, and he showed up when promised, had what he needed to do the job, cleaned up afterward and my fence posts look great. I will hire him again. Thanks Zac."

"What a great experience. Mr. Sizemore texted me before he arrived, showed up on time, gave me an estimate, far better than previous estimates I had gotten, and even said he had the materials to do the repair job right then. He went to work, replaced 15 boards on my fence, cleaned up and was finished in about 20 minutes. I was completely amazed. My neighbors saw him working, and both immediately asked him to do some work for them as well. He was very friendly and took multiple forms of payment, so that made that part easy. I would definitely recommend him and would hire him again. Five stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"

"After setting a start date Mr. Hargrove failed to show up and sent someone who we never met to pick up the installment pay. He was not knowledgeable about the job he was contracted to do. The railings were not installed correctly in fact it was a safety issue - if leaned on one could possibly knock it over. Called several times requesting him to repair, made false promises. To correct the problem we hired someone else to correct the job.

"Clay and Mike are awesome!! They did a wonderful job and I would recommend using them!! Very reasonable price and they made sure the work was done right!! They actually did extra things, such as pressure washed my back patio and painted the trim under my front porch to make their landscaping work pop!! Clay would keep me informed on everything they did and would let me know when they were on their way. Even with all the issues we had with Lowe's, they never let it stop them from getting the work done!! I will continue telling people about their service and will use again!! Thanks again!!"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

New homeowners in Forest City often start with privacy fencing to define property lines and create a secure backyard, especially in areas like Oak Grove or Dogwood Estates. If you have pets, pet containment fencing is essential due to the city’s active pet community. For homes with pools, installing code-compliant pool safety fencing is required and helps protect children and pets from accidental access.

Helpful?

Gather a current property survey, take clear yard photos, and note any HOA fencing restrictions specific to your Forest City neighborhood. Record the location of utility easements and measure the exact areas needing fencing. Identify terrain slopes or drainage issues, specify your preferred fence height and style, and document any neighbor agreements about shared fencing. Having these details ready streamlines communication with local fencing professionals.

Helpful?

For safety in Forest City, choose self-closing gates with childproof latches and ensure pickets are spaced less than four inches apart to prevent climbing. For pet containment, install dig guards and select fence heights suited to your pet’s breed. Use weather-resistant materials that stay cool in the NC sun, avoid planting toxic shrubs nearby, and ensure proper drainage to keep play areas dry and safe year-round.

Helpful?

To prevent delays in Forest City, confirm property boundaries using a recent survey and review any HOA rules that may apply to your neighborhood. Arrange for underground utility marking well in advance, and talk with adjacent neighbors to address shared fence lines. Plan installation for early spring or fall, when Forest City’s clay soil is easier to dig, and consider how local rainfall might affect your project timeline.

Helpful?

Before beginning fencing in Forest City, check for buried utilities by reviewing your property’s layout and noting where power, water, or cable lines might run—especially near driveways or patios. Consider how the city’s clay soil impacts drainage, as improper placement can redirect water toward your foundation. Also, ensure your fence won’t block HVAC vents or disrupt established landscaping, which is common in Forest City’s hilly neighborhoods.
