Customers say: Quality work

"It takes a lot to impress me, but Triangle Energy Solutions did! They were absolutely outstanding, and I highly recommend them. I've had poor to bad experiences with some companies in the past. I only have excellent things to report about this company. If you have any electrical job, hire them. You'll be very glad you did."

"After 3 weeks of living with no air conditioning, and a leaky ceiling, during which time I had 5 technicians (3 from one company that doesn't even have an option to leave a voicemail after 5pm!) attempt (and fail) to fix the problem, I finally had to get a new system.

I sincerely hope you don't need to replace your AC system any time soon, but just in case you do, I highly recommend  Alpine Heating and Air.  Their telephone number is: 919-404-1717.  They went above and beyond customer service, and addressed my concerns, explained answers to my questions in detail re: energy efficiency, payment, warranty, etc., and did exactly what they said they would do re: installing on time.  I have a 10 year warranty for parts and labor and a lifetime warranty for the compressor.  If it breaks (the outside unit), they will replace the entire thing.

A week after my system was installed, the unimaginable happened, and my ceiling was leaking again!!!   I couldn't believe it!!!  I called them - this was on a Sunday evening at around 8:00pm - and they told me that they would send someone over right away, and they did.  I told them that this was unacceptable, and that I expected them to replace it w/a new system.  They assured me that they would do that if necessary. Fortunately, the issue wasn't the system, but the pipe in front of it, which the technician replaced.  I was still in shock that my brand new system had leaked, and I asked him to open the panel in front of the system to ensure that everything was OK.  He went back out to his truck and got his tools and it was fine.

The next morning, Alpine called me and apologized for what happened, and offered to have my ceiling fixed.  I was very surprised, and I told them that I wanted to give full disclosure, and that although it had leaked because of the pipe, I told them that I had previous damage from my other AC, but they said it was OK and that they wanted to make things right, so they sent someone to repair it (no charge to me). "

"CMC was very communicative up front and sent Martin out within days of my request. Martin installed an electrical outlet and light with a switch in my hall closet. He also quoted prices for additional projects in the house to do at a later time. Martin was friendly and clearly explained everything he needed to do. I’ll ask for him again next time!"

"Pat and his team at Integrated Systems of the Triangle have been doing all of our HVAC and electrical for several years now.  We build high end custom homes and small commercial projects in our area and have always been satisfied with Pat's level of service, professionalism, and overall quality of work.  Pat's team also did the HVAC and electrical in our new personal home and we could not be more pleased.  They are most certainly a contractor you would want to call on.

"The experience with Michael & Son was smooth from start to finish. Todd, the employee sent to install the fan, could not have been more professional and efficient. He even made recommendations regarding the fan installation which were very helpful to us. I would highly recommend Michael & Son for electrical work including the installation of a ceiling fan. The price included having to install an electrical box in the ceiling."

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

The direction you want your ceiling fan to move in depends on the season you’re in. During summer, you want it to move counterclockwise to produce a cooling downdraft. During winter, you want it to move clockwise to circulate warm air throughout the room.

Yes, you can install a ceiling fan where a standard light fixture is, as the electrical wiring is often similar and may not need to be replaced. The most important step is to ensure the ceiling can support the fan's weight and motion. You will need to replace the existing light fixture's electrical box with a fan-rated electrical box, which is specifically designed to handle the extra weight and vibration. These boxes will be labeled as suitable for ceiling fan support and will indicate the maximum weight they can hold. Before you begin, also consider if you need an extension rod for a high ceiling or a special mount for an angled ceiling.

Whether you can install a ceiling fan yourself depends on if you're replacing an existing fixture or installing one where no wiring exists. If you are replacing an existing fan, an experienced DIYer may be able to do the job, which can save on labor costs. This work typically doesn’t require a permit, but there’s always a safety risk when dealing with electrical components, so hiring a pro is still a good idea, especially if you aren't handy. Keep in mind you may need a special ladder for high or vaulted ceilings. However, if you are installing a new ceiling fan where there is no current fixture, you must hire a licensed electrician. In most areas, it is required by law that a professional runs new wiring and pulls the necessary permits. Attempting to install wiring yourself can be dangerous and a code violation.

Coffered ceilings often come with additional embellishments and accessories, including tin panels, medallions, trim, molding, recessed lights, and finials. Whether you’re looking for a simple grid pattern or want an elaborate, decorative ceiling with all the bells and whistles, there are plenty of options to choose from.

The most efficient ceiling fan height is 8 to 9 feet from the floor to the fan blades. For ceilings higher than 9 feet, a downrod can be used to lower the fan to the optimal height. This positioning ensures adequate air circulation and maximizes the cooling effect. Remember, fans should be installed at least 7 feet above the floor for safety.
