"Very well-they were quick & for most part were able to do the majority of the work from the outside. They arrived very early & spent all day (ended roughly around 4?-didn't check the time) *there were close to 30 windows, one specialty window that a 2 man team installed. They asked that we move everything away from the windows to avoid any damages. Advised us to avoid putting items back for at least 24 hours to allow the seals to set properly. They arrived before I was fully awake-they want to get it done in 1 day! Would advise that you set your alarm early!"

"We replaced the windows in our 1933 home through the services of MadCity Windows. From the initial contact with their sales representative to final installation, the company provided top notch professional work. With the draft from the old windows and the cold of the glass, we are already saving on our energy bills. Our house had old, large windows, so they had to be custom made. As an industrial designer and interior designer, we find our windows to be of excellent quality."

"
  • It tuned out to be the easiest large purchase I have ever made but didn't start off that way.  I don't live in the house full time and normally only there on the weekends in the summer. I was having a tough time initially getting anyone to even come out and give me an estimate. I was pleasantly surprised with how easy the whole process went with Wize Direct.  I just emailed them the sizes and answered a few questions. They emailed me a great price, 3 weeks later I had new windows! They didn't ask me for any money up front, as a matter of fact I had to remind the installer to take the check after he walked me around the job and showed me how they tilted in to clean. They worked around my schedule and everyone was so nice. The installers were real craftsmen and the windows are great! I only wish I had them replace the sliding glass doors, I guess that will be next years project.

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

Despite their popularity and modern styling, glass railings have a few drawbacks. The first is their high initial cost. While they cost little to maintain, they can be costly to install. Also, scratches and chips in the glass are highly visible and require repairs. Additionally, glass railings require frequent cleaning to maintain their good looks.

You can purchase standard mirrors up to 98 by 80 inches or larger custom mirrors. However, larger mirrors often need to comprise more than one piece of glass.

White vinegar, water, and baking soda create a natural cleaning solution that is highly effective against brown stains on the oven door. Mix one cup of baking soda, one-fourth cup of water, and one teaspoon of vinegar into a paste. Spread it evenly onto the oven glass and let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes. Then, scrape the mixture off with a plastic spatula. Wipe the glass with white vinegar to remove any remaining baking soda.

Yes, it is possible to repair a damaged or cracked mirror, but whether you should do it yourself depends on the extent of the damage. For minor issues like small chips, cracks, and scratches, you can use a DIY approach. Resin-based repair kits can fix minor cracks, while scratches can often be removed with metal polish, nail polish, baking soda, or a glass polisher. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the best results.

However, for more significant damage, DIY repair is not recommended. Repairing and resilvering mirrors is a delicate process that can involve caustic chemicals and requires a high level of precision. The materials for a DIY attempt can cost over $100, which may not be a significant saving compared to hiring a professional. Since a failed attempt could result in more damage and higher repair costs, it is often better to hire a mirror repair expert from the start, especially for large, valuable, or extensively damaged mirrors.

Clean regularly with glass cleaner and a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive materials to prevent scratches.
