"Josue Morales, Michael Gabriel, and Anthony McCleary Jr., came and encapsulated our crawl space. they were professional and hard working crew. They finished our job in two days. They explained the work and completed as expected. We are in Pinehurst area and the humidity level fluctuates high and low, this is a problem for our floors before we encapsulated the crawl space we had our floors damaged by high humidity. After re-flooring our entire house, we chose Tar Heel Basement Systems to protect our investment, the floors as well as the rest of our house. I give the Tar Heel Basement Systems 5 Stars. Their staff from our inspector (Mark Caddell), to the work crew were easy to work with and the work was completed as scheduled and they were available for our questions before and after the work was completed. "Please be advised that this company is very friendly but will require a lot of your time and advocate for services that you do not want. We requested a quote and installation of a crawl space door system. A friendly rep spent 4 hours inspecting and discussing a range of solutions. When we requested installation of just the door system, they refused the service without additional thousands of dollars."

"The contracted the work off to a third party. Jon took longer than expected. The windows was installed pretty good from the looks. Communication could have been better with knowing the job will take longer and what types of trims I wanted for the windows. As the contractor that was hired for this job by this company. Did a good job with putting up decent trim. As for the new windows they look great. I purchased the myself and hired sentri homes to install them. I will need to have a my siding on my house redone to be closer to the new windows so the gaps are not so obvious. That was not expected at first. But from old storm windows and not knowing how they were put in originally. There was some unknown things that was learned from the job being completed. I will have the siding of the house slightly done to match really good for what I wanted later on. My only concern is better communication with sentri homes. Overall they were great when I did talk to them."

"Mr. Farmer and his team did a FANTASTIC job! They had my roof on in a day and had the siding completed in under 3 days. Above and Beyond used high quality products for both the roof and the siding. He put on seamless gutters as well as making sure everything was clean when his crew left. He also kept me up to date and informed of his progress with text messages and photos when everything was completed. I have already recommended his company to my family, friends, and co-workers if they ever need work done on their homes. These guys were professional, polite, and completed the job on time and on budget. I needed the exterior of my home completed in 2 weeks and Above and Beyond made that happen well before my new tenants moved in. The house looks better then when I lived in it thanks to the great quality work of Above and Beyond Construction!"

"Paul & his team screened in my back patio and built a custom bench & shelving for my mud room. I could not be happier with their work and attention to detail. I will be using them again for future projects and would highly recommend."

House Leveling questions, answered by experts

It restores concrete, prevents replacement cost disruptions, reduces trip hazards, and provides stability at a lower cost.

Polyjacking and mudjacking can both be effective solutions for sinking concrete, but they have key differences. Polyjacking, which uses expanding polyurethane foam, is often considered a better option because the foam is significantly lighter than the cementitious material used for mudjacking. This reduced weight puts less pressure on the underlying soil and lowers the risk of future sinking. Polyjacking is suitable for any sinking concrete slab, while mudjacking is typically only recommended for non-structural concrete, such as sidewalks, patios, pool decks, and driveways. The primary drawback of polyjacking is its cost, which can be up to four times higher than mudjacking—as much as $25 per square foot compared to a maximum of about $6 per square foot for mudjacking.

Trenching and boring are two distinct methods for installing underground utilities. Trenching involves digging a channel using equipment like an excavator, trencher, backhoe, or shovel. While it is a simpler process, it causes significant disruption to the surface, landscaping, and surrounding ecosystems.

Boring, also known as directional boring, is a less invasive alternative that uses a drill to create a tunnel for utility lines without disturbing the surface. This method is more precise and is ideal for installations that need to go underneath buildings, roads, or bodies of water. Although boring is less disruptive, it is generally more expensive than trenching.

Pros often use mudjacking or polyurethane foam injection to level a sunken concrete patio. Both methods lift the slab by filling voids beneath it. After properly compacting the soil beneath it to prevent future settling, the concrete may need to be removed and re-poured for severe sinking.

Most states and municipalities don’t require concrete mudjacking companies to carry a specific license, but they usually need to have a general contractor’s license, and they should be fully insured. The only exception is if the mudjacking company provides foundation repairs as well, or if it offers mudjacking for home foundations. In that case, they will typically need a foundation repair contractor’s license. You can check state requirements and then use Angi’s license lookup tool to confirm that a company is properly licensed to provide mudjacking services in your area.
