Customers say: True professional

"The house is sided with 50 year-old cedar boards, and had not been washed in years. The driveway is concrete, double wide, and very long, but was charcoal gray with crud. KEY Power Washing showed up on time with a specialized truck carrying hundreds of feet of hose and 500+ gallons of water. Service was friendly, work was careful and efficient, price was extremely reasonable (40% below nearest competing offer), and results were outstanding! The house looks newly painted, and the driveway could have been recently poured. I will be asking for a repeat service visit every year from now on! I cannot recommend KEY Power Washing highly enough!"

Pressure Washing FAQs, answered by experts

Whether you need to winterize your pressure washer depends on where it will be stored. If it's kept in a location where temperatures could drop to freezing, any liquid left in the water pump can freeze, expand, and cause severe damage to the machine. To prevent this, you can add antifreeze to the pump. While emptying the machine with compressed air is an alternative, it can be a tedious process and may not remove all the liquid. If you can store the pressure washer in a relatively warm place with no risk of freezing, you won't need to add antifreeze. However, regardless of storage conditions, it is good practice to empty the gas chamber and refresh the oil before storing it for the winter.

Deciding whether to buy or rent a pressure washer depends on your budget and how often you plan to use it.

  • Renting: The daily rental cost typically ranges from $40 to $175. Renting can be more cost-effective for a one-time project.

  • Buying: The purchase price for a pressure washer can range from $100 to over $1,000. More specifically, electric models generally cost between $100 and $400, while gas models run from $300 to $600.

If you anticipate using a pressure washer multiple times a year, buying one is often a better long-term investment. When purchasing, remember that a higher-quality machine will likely deliver better and more reliable results.

It’s not necessary, but you can absolutely use soap or detergent when pressure washing your house. Washing with a mixture of soap and water will ensure your siding is spotless when you’re finished. However, in many cases it is not necessary to use soap and you can still achieve a powerful result without any product.

Generally 1-2 hours, depending on the area and level of dirt accumulation.

Yes, you can pressure wash epoxy floors, but you must take precautions to avoid damaging the surface. While most epoxy floors can be cleaned with a mop, you might choose to pressure wash if the floor is stained, has ground-in dirt, or is covered with mold or mildew. To do so safely, first soak any stains or dirty areas with a gentle cleanser. Use a lower pressure setting with a gentle nozzle, such as a green, white, or black tip, or a 45-degree angled tip. Keep the spray nozzle at least 18 inches away from the floor to protect the surface. Using a surface cleaner attachment or a rotary scrubber can also help prevent overspray. Be cautious if using a power washer that heats the water, as the combination of heat and pressure may be too powerful and could damage the epoxy coating.
