"Everything about my experience was handled in a very professional manner from beginning to finished job. Luke came out and explained what he would suggest doing on roof and we replaced. The crew was exceptional and worked very hard. I highly recommend them if you need a roof replaced."

"Vince called me soon after I posted my need for gutter cleaning and pressure washing on Angi. He came over within the hour to assess the job and give us an estimate. Within 2 weeks (weather was a factor) he came and did a Wonderful job of cleaning our gutters and house. Would absolutely recommend him to friends and will call him for regular maintenance. Nice man. Great job."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Yes, hail damage to your roof can definitely cause water leaks in your roof. This is because hailstones can break, chip, crack, or split shingles of all types, exposing underlayment. This underlayment doesn’t offer as much protection against water, so when it becomes compromised, water can penetrate and leak deeper into your home.

Rain shouldn’t come in through your ridge vents unless your vents are damaged or the rain is accompanied by very high winds. Most ridge vents use flashing or baffling to keep out rain, snow, and debris. If your ridge vent isn’t baffled, rain is more likely to enter your attic, so ridge vents with baffles are a better choice in areas with regular rainfall.

Metal roofs have a reputation for being noisy, but with proper installation and adequate insulation, they are not significantly noisier than shingle roofs. The type of metal used can affect the sound level; for instance, steel roofs are typically noisier than slate or asphalt tiles but quieter than aluminum. While some people find the sound of rain on a metal roof pleasant, you can take steps to reduce the noise. Installing a thicker underlayment, adding insulation between the roof and the house, or using acoustic tiles can effectively muffle the sound. The gauge (thickness) of the metal roofing can also contribute to sound dampening.

Just like when you’re shingling a roof, you can install felt underlayment under a metal roof, but a synthetic underlayment like adhered ice and water shield is the best option. These use adhesives rather than mechanical fasteners, so you have fewer penetrations going through your roof deck and a lower risk of leaks. Ice and water shield is also easier to install because you don’t need additional tools or fasteners to attach it to the roof deck.

DIY is not recommended due to safety and expertise requirements. Professional installation ensures proper alignment and sealing.
