"Very polite and professional at all times, but also personable. Did excellent work and stayed on budget and within time frame quoted. Hardworking and consistently on point with the job. Removed all refuse from the job and put deck furniture back on deck. Refreshingly kind and honest. Would recommend to anyone."

"They did a great job! My roof looks great! Reliable and kept me well informed about everything. They kept cost in mind and cleaned up nicely after themselves. Serge even came out late to tarp the roof until it could get repaired so that I didnâ t have any further damage to the house waiting for the roof. They were very nice to work with. Great people. I canâ t say enough good things about them!"

"We had roof damage and our deck was destroyed during the hurricane. TG came in and fixed the roof plus tore out the old deck and replaced it...plus an addition to the deck and build a new roof for the deck. Wonderful work, very nice to work with and did not try to charge and outrageous amount. Would recommend to anyone. Thanks for a great experience!"

"Daron Dwyer and his team did an outstanding job on my new deck for an amazing price! Kept the same depth of old deck, but extended it an extra six feet wide. Added a step around the entire perimeter of two sides of the deck. Added a railing on the 3rd side of the deck as well. Used pressure treated lumber and screws. Built a brand new sub structure attached to the foundation of the home with the proper concrete anchors. He did not cut any corners on his work. Took time to make sure everything was safe and correct. His attention to detail was phenomenal. And done in two days! Cleaned up the work site as well. All for $8500. Compared to many other quotes I got for well above $10k-$15k. His price I believed was very honest compared to most. I will be using him for future projects! Next is flooring and then a brand new kitchen hopefully! Highly recommended Daron Dwyer from RedBird Properties!"

"Marcus, Skylar and their crew did an amazing job building a tree house and deck for us. They were wonderful to work with- great communication, friendly and very conscientious of our space and the build. They took the time to make sure it was done right and in the way that was safest for our trees. When I asked for a second deck they were easily able to pivot their plans and adjust to my needs and included me in every step of the decision making process without making me feel intimated or belittled in any way. I am thoroughly pleased with the quality of their work and their integrity as people. I would absolutely hire them again!"

Deck Repair questions, answered by experts

It’s best to prime composite decking before painting. This promotes better paint adhesion, helps create a smooth finish, and can mean the paint job will last longer. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for application, allow ample primer drying time before painting (typically 24 to 48 hours), and thoroughly clean the deck boards to promote the best adhesion.

No, your deck will not rot under artificial grass as long as it is installed properly. When installed correctly, the artificial grass features a drainage system that prevents rotting. Simply laying artificial grass on top of the decking without proper installation will not lead to an effective drainage system that prevents rotting.

You typically don’t need a railing and handrails on a deck that’s less than 30 inches from the ground. However, consider adding them regardless. Railings provide additional safety for you and your guests who use your deck—plus, railings give the deck a more finished look than it would have without them.

It's okay to walk on a newly painted deck after about four to six hours as long as the weather has been dry. Be sure to wait at least 24 hours before you place any outdoor furniture or grills on a freshly painted deck, though.

Typically, most residential wooden decks are designed to support approximately 40 pounds per square foot, including the deck’s weight and any items placed on it. While this is fine for typical use, it is usually not enough to hold the weight of a hot tub filled with water and people. To safely support a hot tub, your wood deck will likely require reinforcement. Therefore, it’s best to have a contractor or a structural engineer assess it before hot tub installation.
