"Dustin and his wife Luz did a fabulous job on all the things I needed for my new home. The biggest of which was painting my unfinished double and third garage. Builder had mudded it, but that was it. Now it looks awesome and walls protected against moisture which could cause big problems down the road. He also installed four ceiling fans, took off a water closet door and put together two LED fireplace TV stands and a kitchen island and did a great job with those too. I'm having him back to install a garbage disposal, change out my builder grade dishwasher and build a ramp for my storage building. Very transparent on his fees and does excellent work. Takes his time to do it right the first time. I highly recommend him."

"Absolutely no complaints here. The guys showed up every day and cleaned up at the end of the day. All the old material was hauled away. These guys do excellent work and follow through with commitments. We are remodeling our townhouse. I found a couple of other projects I needed done while they were on site. I'm having JH repair a rotted window sill on the second floor and replace the French door in the dining area due to rot next week. I highly recommend them."

Nest Installation questions, answered by experts

Like any other animal, rats are attracted to food sources, water, and shelter. Clean up food messes right away, don’t leave pet food out, and secure your garbage to make your home less appealing. Fix leaky pipes and dripping faucets, and declutter spaces that rats might think to nest in.

The best way to ward off roaches is to take preventative measures and stay on top of routine extermination services. Keep them away by cleaning your kitchen free from crumbs, properly storing away food, covering your pet’s food bowl, and reducing moisture in your home to make your house less tempting for roaming cockroaches. Remove clutter—especially cardboard boxes that roaches love to hide in, and replace them with plastic tubs.

Setting up an animal trap in your yard largely depends on where you live and the type of critter you're dealing with. In many states, trapping nuisance animals like squirrels, rats, or raccoons is allowed, sometimes without needing a permit. However, certain wildlife species are protected, and not all states have lenient catch-and-release regulations.

Before placing a trap, check your local laws to avoid fines or other legal issues. Some areas allow DIY trapping, while others may require professional assistance. Most areas require a professional to relocate the animal once trapped. Consulting a pro ensures you handle the situation responsibly, humanely, and within the law.

Some stores sell smoke bombs to drive animals out of spaces, but we don’t recommend you use them, especially in an attic. The smoke can be toxic to humans or pets that may accidentally inhale it. Meanwhile, critters can easily escape the smoke by temporarily leaving the attic, only to return via their usual entry points after the smoke clears.

The best termite treatment depends on your specific infestation, home, and budget. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the most common professional treatments are soil-applied barrier treatments, like liquid termiticides, and termite baits. Bait stations are placed in the soil and work by moving poison back into the colony to kill the queen. For infestations that haven't fully taken root, barriers and targeted termiticides are often the most effective options. Additionally, preventative measures such as moisture removal and installing physical barriers to protect vulnerable wood are important, particularly during construction or remodeling. It is best to work with a termite professional to determine the right treatment for your situation.
