"Sentri Homes provided the most professional flooring service I’ve ever had. The LVP installation turned out absolutely beautiful, and I was amazed at how quickly everything was completed without sacrificing quality. The crew was fast, accurate, and extremely detail-oriented from start to finish. Everything was installed cleanly, precisely, and with real craftsmanship. The entire process was smooth, efficient, and far beyond what I expected. I would absolutely recommend Sentri Homes to anyone needing flooring installed."

"I used Angie's List to select this contractor. The roof on my vacation home was in need of replacement. I contacted Allen Farmer of Above and Beyond in Early August. He met me at the house the next weekend to look at the roof, provide a quote. I accepted the quote and asked that he re-attach some siding that had come loose also. He agreed and provided me with a contract. I gave him $1800.00 up front agreeing to pay $1200.00 upon completion.
Allen had some logistical issues to overcome before he could get started. Apparently he had to overcome some unexpected employee turnover and a job that took longer than expected. He communicated these issues to me effectively and promptly returned calls when I inquired about the start date.
He did start and complete the job by Sept 12. A few weeks late.
The work was performed professionally. The roof looks great. There was no debris in the yard, in fact he left things better than I left it for him, replacing a loose deck rail and generally tidying up the exterior :)
I am considering having Above and Beyond do some siding work also. The overall experience was good. Allen prides himself on his reputation and works hard to maintain it.

"Paul & his team screened in my back patio and built a custom bench & shelving for my mud room. I could not be happier with their work and attention to detail. I will be using them again for future projects and would highly recommend."

"Jeff was amazing. He called minutes after my request for a quote, was at my house the next day to see the work that needed to be done, and completed the work in record time just two days later. He was responsive and kept in touch with me along the way. I get super stressed about home repair projects and this was a completely stress free experience. I will use him again and again and would highly recommend J&S. Thank you so much!"

"The technician did an excellent job. It did take a while to get the repair finished, but that was due to Bertazzoni delivering the parts. I have had multiple problems with this particular appliance. My range now works better than it did when new, but I have a feeling that even if I have continuing problems with it, American Home Shield will just repair rather than replace due to the cost of the range. By the way, I'm not exactly sure of the date of the repair."

Custom Home Builders questions, answered by experts

Whether a prefab home is worth it or not will depend on your personal needs and preferences. Overall, prefab homes tend to cost less than traditional homes, although they also tend to have lower resale values. Another thing to consider is that prefab homes usually last 50 to 60 years or longer, while traditional homes last 50 to 100 years or more.

Modular homes can go up or down in value depending on a few factors. In areas where real estate is appreciating, the value of modular homes is likely to increase, and vice versa. Additionally, the value of modular homes depends partially on the area. In cities where every other home is stick-built, modular homes might be considered a functional obsolescence, in which case they could be less desirable and go down in value. In either case, though, modular homes can still be a good investment, especially since they provide housing at a lower upfront cost.

A carriage house is a freestanding building, while a townhouse is connected to other units. A townhouse is a full single-family home and typically shares a parcel of land with other connected homes. A carriage house is rarely used as the sole single-family home on a property and is most often an additional building sharing property with a traditional single-family home.

It pays to hire a project manager or general contractor when you have a large-scale project that will take over a week to complete, especially when it involves structural changes and multiple subcontractors. This includes hiring a general contractor to build a house, add an extension, or manage other projects that need a building permit.

A construction manager is particularly useful in the case of a large-scale build with custom design elements, so it’s usually worth it to hire one. They can help manage your budget, maintain quality control, oversee timelines, and navigate unexpected hurdles. While construction managers are pricey, they can actually save money in the long run by identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring the project stays within budget.
