Barry Williams Plumbing LLC is a Holden Beach based company serving Brunswick County NC and Northern Horry County SC. Unlike some national franchises, we do not use sub contractors to fulfill your plumbing needs. Our employees are Drug Screened, Background Checked, Neat/Well Groomed and Highly Trained service technicians ready to solve what ever plumbing challenges you may be experiencing. We use a straight forward pricing agreement so you will always know what our service cost prior to us starting any work. All this means you will always receive the highest quality customer service at the fairest possible price for the service we provide.

"Barry Williams Plumbing came through for us again dealing with a difficult situation involving other contractors and county permit issues. We live out of town so all this had to be handled remotely. He quickly assessed the situation and recommended a solution. Once I gave him the OK, he worked with the county, the other contractor, and got everything resolved to our satisfaction. What is particularly noteworthy is how often he communicated with us to keep us updated on where things stood and his next steps. I have never had a contractor be so proactive about getting the job done or about communicating with me. He even went directly to the County Permit Office to ensure everything was good on their end. His technical knowledge, overall professionalism, and customer focus are clearly exceptional. Barry Williams is OUR plumber!"

"Our neighbor in the condo below ours reported water leaking into the ceiling of her kitchen. We contacted RotoRooter Fayetteville (aka Kowkowski Plumbing) to detect and repair the source of the leak. Jay Jackson arrived (late) on 6/16/2022. He inspected our neighbor's kitchen ceiling as well as every plumbing fixture in our unit (kitchen sink, dishwasher, all of the bathroom fixtures and connections in the laundry room). He could not find any standing water or evidence of a leak in our condo so he contacted his office for additional assistance. His supervisor and additional technicians responded. After reviewing the situation they decided the only way to find the leak would be to: "remove ceiling in downstairs apt to find leak from apt above". It was the end of the day and we were told that before any work could/would be done they required a deposit of $2500 up front. Work would not begin until the following afternoon (6/17/22) at the earliest. When Jay Jackson arrived on that date he wanted me to sign an open ended contract with multiple blank (incomplete) sections that referred to binding terms on a water mitigation agreement (supposedly attached). The mitigation agreement had never been proposed, discussed or reviewed. It was not attached nor was one available. Jay Jackson could not answer any questions. His supervisor (Michael?), was upset by my questions and unwilling to give me an explanation for performing "restoration work" before locating and repairing the leak. He was rude, argumentative and forgot he was dealing with a consumer of the product his business provides. At this point we decided to exercise our perogative to employ a different plumber. We informed Jay of our decision. We also contacted his office. We asked them to refund our deposit, less any service charge for their inspection ($218.28!!!), which had not been quoted previously. Buyer beware! Not all franchise companies stand up to the service you expect with "name recognition". We cannot, in good faith, recommend this company."

"I called and explained that liquid was seeping out of the top of the septic tank, but the warning light had not come on. John spent 10 minutes on the phone with me asking questions and then explaining where I need to look for tripped breakers or blown fuses. I followed his instructions and was able to find a tripped breaker at the unit (severe lightning storms a few days previous) and got the unit up and running. No service call, and no charge. I highly recommend Sewer & Drain Medic."

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

If the toilet is overflowing but there’s no clog, that’s a sign that the issue is deeper in the system, and plunging may not help. A blockage in your home’s plumbing, the plumbing vent, or even city sewer lines can cause toilets to overflow. The issue could also be the toilet itself if the filler float isn’t set to the correct height or if parts are damaged or worn out.

Never pour used motor oil down the drain. Doing so can have serious environmental consequences, including contaminating groundwater, endangering animals, and killing vegetation. It can also clog your pipes, causing backups in your plumbing or the wastewater treatment plant. In most places, pouring motor oil down the drain is illegal, whether you do it in your home or a storm drain.

The best practice is to clean the sewer drain lines in your home once a year or every two years. Older homes could require more frequent maintenance. Keeping up on cleaning your sewer lines can prevent severe clogs, help ensure your system is working properly, and prevent expensive repairs.

With a one-way cleanout, you can access your sewer line from one direction. Depending on the way it curves, a plumber can either access the side of the pipe that goes into your home or the side that goes to your yard. On the other hand, two-way cleanouts allow pros to access both sides of the sewer line, thanks to their dual-pipe design (they’re usually U-shaped).

Yes, rats can come up through drains. They can crawl through basement floor drains, lateral house drains, and roof drains. Installing rat blockers in your drains is the best way to repel rats and prevent them from entering your pipes. These are one-way valves that allow water and waste to flow out but keep rats from getting in.
