We have reached out on 3 separate occasions. My wife and I have been told different stories by different people as to what happened, but not much of it is adding up. After holding our deposit for over two months the manager said-- "We cannot do anything more to compensate you." Apparently, it is being overnighted this evening. Sadly, my advice is to proceed with caution. I give 2-stars because they apparently still have the money to refund me, it could have been worse I suppose."

There are two main issues with metal roofs: the up-front cost and how noisy they can be when it rains. Metal roofs cost close to twice as much as asphalt roofs per square foot, and although you also get more than double the lifespan and more value from them, the initial cost is higher. Metal roofs can also create noise in your living space when it rains, so some homeowners install acoustic panels or insulation under them to reduce noisiness.

In the metal versus shingle roof debate, aluminum roofing has several advantages. However, aluminum roofing costs more than typical asphalt roofing, so up-front cost is a major downside. Aluminum is also somewhat susceptible to denting, and repairs can be more costly than for other roof types because your roofer will need to replace large panels rather than individual shingles. Aluminum roofs are also noisy in the rain, which some homeowners don’t like.

Metal roofs have a bad reputation for being loud, even if that's not necessarily true—it's usually only thin tin or sheet metal roofs that are loud during storms. Stone coating adds a layer to the metal that severely cuts down on any noise from rain. In many ways, stone-coated steel roofs are quieter than your average, run-of-the-mill asphalt shingle roof.
