"Bill and Billy were very professional and efficient with the projects I had at my home. They built me and 2 car garage and deck off the back of my house. Pricing was very fair and the quality of their work was top notch. They're family owned and operated. I highly recommend them as a general contractor and builder for any home projects."

"Kip did an awesome job on my driveway about 5 years ago and still looks brand new. Also brought him in recently when he was in town to look at my garage door which was getting stuck when opening. He was quick and efficient and cost half the price compared to the manufacturer service provider. He's also very available via phone for any questions or troubleshooting concerns. With his knowledge and old school customer service skills, I highly recommend him as a handyman for any home project!"

"First, let me say the level of professionalism from this company was immaculate. From scheduling, to communication before arrival and most importantly the services that were performed. I had some major work done to my home and was quite nervous hoping everything would turn out great. Well, it turned out more than great! The paint job has the interior of my home looking brand new, my deck is beautiful and now one of my favorite places to retreat to at my home & my roof is now 100%!! I couldn’t have found a better company to trust with these major projects! Thank you Ruiz Enterprise for all the hard work, you guys did a beautiful job :)!"

"I had a very good experience working with Walt Haines General Contractor. Walt Haines is very easy to work with on a custom plan. He is the most conscientious contractor you will find. He cares about the quality of his workmanship, and tries hard to please his customers. Thank you Walt for building my beautiful addition in a timely, professional manner. "Sentri Homes provided the most professional flooring service I’ve ever had. The LVP installation turned out absolutely beautiful, and I was amazed at how quickly everything was completed without sacrificing quality. The crew was fast, accurate, and extremely detail-oriented from start to finish. Everything was installed cleanly, precisely, and with real craftsmanship. The entire process was smooth, efficient, and far beyond what I expected. I would absolutely recommend Sentri Homes to anyone needing flooring installed."

Barndominium Builders questions, answered by experts

In the U.S., original and converted carriage houses are most often found in New England, New York, and other parts of the Northeast. New construction carriage houses can be found across the country, and are often added to properties with Colonial-style homes for additional living, storage, or work space, although they can be found in many different styles.

The timeline to build your barn will depend on the barn type and the company you hire. A pole barn may take six weeks or so, while a traditionally framed or steel-framed barn can take four months or longer. Building a barndominium takes the longest because you are essentially building a new home. You can expect barndominiums to take six months or longer to build.

The construction stage is almost always the longest part of building a house. Within this stage, framing often takes the most time, lasting anywhere from one week to a couple of months, depending on the home's size, the crew, and the time of year. Other parts of the construction phase include pouring the foundation and installing doors, windows, a roof, siding, drywall, and flooring. The planning and design phase can also be very time-consuming, sometimes taking months or even years, especially for a custom home. The final finishing process, which includes painting and installing trim, is typically shorter than the construction or planning stages.

Any type of construction that damages a tree’s roots via soil compaction can be dangerous, and is one of the primary causes of mature tree death in residential areas. Simply putting lots of weight on the ground around the tree, like construction supplies, trailers, and equipment, can kill roots near the surface. Of course, installing new foundations, patios, or utility lines can cut through nearby tree roots. Accidentally striking a tree with equipment or supplies is rarely a problem, but can cause damage of its own, too.

Yes, barn doors can be too heavy, although the limitation is usually imposed by the mounting hardware you buy and not your home’s framing, unless you’re building an unusually wide door. To keep the weight down, you can opt for 1-by material rather than 2-by material, and choose a softwood like pine rather than a hardwood like maple or oak. Check the weight limits on your mounting hardware, and always attach your door track to studs rather than to drywall anchors.
