"We are very happy with our new bathroom. We started with a 1960's "Pink Tile" bathroom that was quite crowded, and ended up with a new, more current design that has considerably more room. And we did NOT change the size of the overall bathroom. Dave is a consummate problem solver and enjoys a challenge. It is clear that he takes great pride in and very much enjoys what he does, and the quality of his work clearly reflects that. DLS Home Services will be my first choice, if available, for any of my future home maintenance, remodel, repair or upgrade needs. I would highly recommend DLS Home Services for any home maintenance, remodel, repair or upgrade."

"CJ and his crew do a very complete estimate of the work and what needed to be done the window installation was done in a very proffessional way with a very nice clean up afterward, when there was an unforseen issue that arose due to the age of the house CJ took the steps to inform and the best way to fix it, in the end they got it done!"

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

Once you remove all standing water and puddling, you should run fans for 24 to 48 hours to remove the remaining moisture. For severe water damage, it’s a good idea to run them for three to four days to be safe. Make sure you buy or rent the proper size and number of fans for your water-damaged area.

It is unlikely that a ceiling fan will fall, even if it develops a wobble. During a proper installation, ceiling fans are securely bolted to a ceiling joist, and the fasteners used for mounting are generally separate from the components related to balancing. A wobble is typically caused by an imbalance, which can be annoying and may lead to other issues, but is not usually dangerous on its own.

However, if a fan is wobbling because it was not installed correctly, it could be at risk of falling. For safety, it's always a good idea to ensure all mounting screws are tight and to address any wobbling or imbalance issues promptly.

You should generally avoid using WD-40 on a ceiling fan. While it might quiet a squeak temporarily, it is primarily an anti-corrosion and water displacement agent, not a true lubricant, and can damage the fan's components over time. Most modern ceiling fans have sealed bearings and do not require oiling, so a squeak may indicate another issue. For fans that do require lubrication, it is better to use a light machine oil, 30-weight motor oil, or a lubricant specifically designed for ceiling fans.

As a general rule of thumb, clean your fans whenever you tidy up the home. Fans benefit greatly from a light weekly cleaning and a deep cleaning at the start of each season. If it’s been a while since you touched up the fans with oscillating blades, start with the deep cleaning before moving on to the lighter touch-ups. If you’re unsure when to clean fans and other parts of the home, learn how often you should clean your home.

The number of blades for your fan poses both advantages and disadvantages. Typically, the more blades on a fan, the better the air distribution and cooling effect, but this also means that your fan will have more wear on its motor. For small rooms, three-blade fans should work fine. For larger areas like living rooms, four or five-blade fans might be the better option.
