"Called for a short notice appt around Xmas time and they made room for me, and even arrived early. Stairs were the big cleaning issue (I hate cleaning them so they get less attn) and they got them very clean. Rest of the carpet turned out great and they removed a few stubborn stains as well. Very professional and worked very quickly. Carpet was not overly wet when done and smelled great. Very pleased with the work. Cost was very reasonable and less than I had paid other companies that did inferior work. Will use again."

"John did a great job installing a ceramic subway tile backsplash in our kitchen. John was easy to schedule and got the job done quickly. One bit of feedback... was not clear upfront that we provide all the hard materials (tile, grout, schluters, etc.). Could be a good upsell to help customers choose and buy tile and grout through partner tile companies (I probably would have paid extra for this!). Otherwise, very impressed. Would hire again."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

On average, tiling a shower costs between $1,800 and $5,000, with most people paying around $2,700. The price of this project depends on multiple factors, including the kind of tile you choose, the size of your shower, and labor rates in your area. If you decide to tile your own shower (instead of hiring a professional), it’ll likely cost $800 to $1,400.

To make a small bathroom look bigger, choose light-colored tiles in a medium- to large-format size. Lighter colors like white, cream, or light gray help open up a room, making it feel larger and more airy. While it may seem counterintuitive, small tiles can actually make a bathroom look smaller because the increased number of grout lines creates a busy pattern that visually shrinks the space. Instead, opt for medium- or large-format tiles for a more seamless, expansive appearance. For the best effect, pair your tiles with a matching or similarly colored grout to create a continuous surface that enhances the illusion of a larger area. Avoid dark colors, heavy patterns, and contrasting grout, as these can make the space feel more confined.

Different types of tile cutters may work best depending on the type of tile you are cutting and the size of your project. There are two main types of tile cutters: manual and electric. Manual tile cutters are quick and easy to use for small projects and softer tile materials, but they can only make straight cuts. Electric tile cutters make light work of big projects and can cut through harder materials.

Popular options include ceramic, porcelain, stone, and glass tiles, chosen based on the area (bathroom, kitchen) and desired aesthetic.

Glazed ceramic tiles don’t need to be sealed because the glazing already offers some protection against moisture. Unglazed ceramic tiles need to be sealed to keep the porous tile safe from moisture and staining. However, both types of tile can benefit from sealing. Sealant can make the tiles easier to keep clean and offer more resistance to water, spills, and stains.
