"The whole experience was amazing. After calling and leaving a message about what I was needing done (had let my yard go and it was very bad) I was contacted within an hour of leaving the message and set up a time for Scott to come over and check the job out. Scott came over the very next day to examine the work that I needed to be done. Thought the price was going to be out of the ballpark, but found it to be very reasonable. Once they were able to do the job, they completed the work quickly and made my yard look 110% better than it did. With what they accomplished at this time of the year here in MT, I can't wait to see what they can do in the spring. Thanks to the Ground Guys I now have a yard I can be proud of."

"We started using Maple falls a year and a half ago, and it's been excellent every time. We usually use them for general maintenance, but last year we had them do a huge landscaping project that involved the whole yard, and they did an outstanding job. They're always on time, and some of the hardest workers I've ever seen. Their pricing is quite reasonable for the work that they do. Nestor, the owner, has always been available if I ever have questions or concerns, and has great communication with you while they work for you."

"Estimate matched the final bill. Very personable. Great clean up. I asked them late in the day to remove the leaves that had accumulated on my roof prior to their work. They did as I asked without expectation of extra money. I did pay them extra though. One challenging limb they got creative so they didn't damage my fence. It worked!! I would definitely hire them again. Referred them to family."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

The best time to plant a tree is in the spring, so the roots have time to grow into the surrounding soil before winter sets in. Some people recommend planting in the late fall. However, planting in the spring reduces the stress on the tree, as it will be emerging from dormancy, giving it the full spring and summer ahead to acclimate and put down roots into the soil.

Lakefront landscaping offers benefits such as enhancing aesthetic appeal, increasing property value, supporting ecological balance, and providing recreational opportunities while preserving the shoreline's natural beauty.

Costs for lakefront landscaping are influenced by project size, choice of plants and materials, labor, and any additional features or structures desired. Projects can range from a few thousand dollars to extensive transformations costing much more.

If shade is a priority for you, then panting elm trees is a fine choice. A full mature elm tree has enough aesthetic appeal for some folks that it could add value to your home.

That said, never plant elm trees too close to your home, sewer line, or sidewalks, as their roots can damage these, which can lead to costly repairs.

The landscaping elements that add the most value are often the basics. A well-maintained, attractive lawn can have a return on investment (ROI) of up to 217%. Routine lawn maintenance, such as edging and mulching, can provide an ROI of over 100%. Other high-value projects include upgrading your front walkway, which can offer a 100% ROI, and planting trees. Projects like adding decks, patios, outdoor lighting, irrigation systems, fire pits, and outdoor kitchens also add value and enjoyment, though their direct financial ROI may be less than 100% in some cases.
