"Removed asphalt singles and installed raised seam metal roof. Did an amazing job. Very friendly and pleasant to work with. Did everything he said he would for the price he quoted. Highly recommend this company. Couldn’t be happier with the quality of the service and job."

"Started with a leak and ended with new roof and gutters, replaced rotted siding, full mold restoration, then drywall and contruction to my kitchen back together they handled it all for us including our insurance claim. Jack, Phil, Wilbur, and Frank we had interactions with personally and thought very highly of their level of overall conduct and service."

"Shawn was amazing to work with. He did several projects for me including plumbing and installing kitchen stove and garbage disposal. Shawn went above and beyond and was very thorough and thoughtful in his work. Shawn was a “jack of all trades”. I would hire him again if I ever need anything done. At least 5 stars and more if I could!!"

"We so appreciated Joey and his team. We were in the middle of a house project when we discovered an issue with a previously installed Lynrich door. Joey was quick to respond, offered a solution, and sent his team of Chuck and Dalton the very next day. They were professional, good communicators, paid attention to detail and left everything clean. Thank you for your excellent service."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

If you live on the West Coast or anywhere with the threat of wildfires, you likely want to take steps to fireproof your home. Besides waterproofing and life span, rubber roofing also is noted for being fire resistant. Consult a professional roofer for details on what type of roofing would be best for you if fire resistance is a priority.

Yes, moss can be dangerous for your roof if left in place to grow without treatment. The moss soaks up and holds moisture. Having a constantly damp roof could lead to problems with rot for the parts of the roof that consist of wood. Additionally, a patch of thick moss may draw insects and birds, which could damage the roof. Thick moss could block the roof’s drainage system. Water then may back up after a rainstorm and cause further damage that could eventually lead to roof repair expenses or the cost of roof replacement.

The minimum recommended slope for a porch roof is 1/4:12, which means 1/4-inch of rise every 12 inches of run. Slopes of 3:12 and 4:12 are more common and provide faster drainage for runoff. Make sure to choose a pitch that’s appropriate both for the climate in your area and the type of roof material you install. Hire a roofer if you need help determining what the right roof pitch is.

The principal, common, and auxiliary rafters are the most frequently used types of rafters. Principal rafters are large and typically appear toward the edges of the roof. Common rafters are smaller than principal rafters. Some people may use a mix of common and principal rafters. The auxiliary rafter is not common, but it provides extra reinforcement for a principal rafter on a large building.

The placement of snow guards depends on the individual roof, but typically snow guards are placed between 12 and 18 inches from the eaves, though they can be placed as close as six inches and as far as 24 inches from the eaves. A roofing professional can assess the roof and potential snow loads to determine the best placement.
