I had Big Sky Exterior Designs re-roof my 2000 sq.ft. house and garage due to hail damage from the August 2019 storm. The 4 man crew was qualified and efficient. I asked them if they could finish it in one day and they did. They worked from just after 7:00 am till after 9:00 pm. I was a construction inspector for many years and I know they did a really good job and kept the backyard gates closed keeping my dogs safe. I have found a few nails around the perimeter of the house but that is to be expected as it was almost dark by the time they were doing the clean up. I would definitely hire them again.

We highly recommend Big Sky Exterior Designs. They took care of both our siding and window needs. The job was completed on time, on budget, and done with exceptional quality work. The site was left as they found it. Todd was great to work with and answered all of our questions and kept us updated throughout the entire process. We will use them again if the need arises.

We had Big Sky Exterior Designs reroof our house and garage. The crew was extremely professional and efficient. They said they would have the job done in one day. I was extremely doubtful they could complete the job by the end of the day. To my amazement they had the new roof down and clean-up completed by the end of the day. The roof looks great and my yard was spotless. I would definitely hire Big Sky Exterior Designs again.. MaryBeth Sanderson

The salesman was great to work with and kept in contact. The installers were friendly, fast and did a great job. They even worked in the cold and stayed late to finish. I was impressed with this company and was glad we chose them to repair the hail damaged metal siding on our house.

Very well. The representative, Dan, was exceptional. He returned phone calls and addressed any concerns we had in a timely manner. The work crew was also exceptional. Dell, the foreman, was very easy to deal with and was willing to do whatever it took to make us happy. They did excellent work. We have had some very bad experiences with contractors so it was a real pleasure working with someone who knew what they were doing. I'd highly recommend them.

I have mixed feelings whether I would hire them again. I never personally spoke with the owner but my wife did and he was very understanding and tried his best to make it right. We hired this company because they were local and all of their workers were supposedly local but that was not the case on our job. I felt like because we had not purchased the more expensive steel siding and instead just replaced what we had, or job was not add important as others. Communication was almost non-existent until the very end but by that time the damage had been done. The two guys that came out to do the siding were not from Billings but I was told they recently moved here although it was very obvious they were not from this part of the country. I often found nails in my driveway and yard and now that the job is finished I am still finding little things like window trim that was broke or pulled out during siding removal and then cobbled back together. It was cold when the work was done so we did not do a thorough inspection which in retrospect I wish we had. The owner did come out and try to make it right but I just found the window trim on our large window the other day so I haven't bothered calling them about it. I don't want to sound like the complaining pain in the butt client but we want our house to look as good add before the hail. I would hire them again on the condition that whoever came out to do the work was very familiar and knew what they were doing as well as being local

The installers were very professional and courteous. They made sure to not disturb us at home during the installation. They were very detailed and made sure to discuss our concerns and bring any potential issues up before making decisions. This was the only siding installer we talked to that would do the accent rock work for us. All others said no, or wanted us to contract separately with a mason.

We have a very old house. The windows required change out of screen or storm windows seasonally. They were drafty and were hard to keep up. For example, painting the window and screen frames to maintain them was considerable effort.
We had received a bid from another provider, and the approach was business like, but the price was high and there was not a lot of warmth. The person who came did not bring a demonstration unit.
Big Sky Exterior was doing siding in our neighborhood, and one of the people from the company stopped by to ask if we needed to have any work done. We had painted siding recently, but we were interested in having them propose replacing windows. An appointment was set up.
We liked the approach of Big Sky Exterior, They had a demo unit for the double hung window, and they took a great deal of time to fully understand our needs and answer questions. We really liked the video that was shot after we decided to go ahead and put down deposit. They highlighted the video when meeting with us. The purpose of the video is to help the people who will work on the project be better prepared when they come onsite. The client can also view it and comment, because it is posted on YouTube. The video does not replace the need to be present and provide guidance, but it does pre-empt some issues and minimize guesswork. This is very valuable.
We did research on the windows that Big Sky uses. The quality is very good. We are very pleased with the installation and with the windows, now that they are installed. The installation was very well done. There is a lot of detail work, and this was completed. They did not cut corners. The exterior appearance is crisp, and internally, we can feel the difference between the old and new windows. Everyone at Big Sky was skilled, friendly, responsive, and professional. We are very satisfied.

We had several weather delays and schedule conflicts but Mark was very accommodating and moved our installation to a time that worked for us. Brandon, our job foreman, was outstanding - professional, courteous and friendly. The entire replacement took a little longer than anticipated but was due to extremely cold weather. At final inspection there were small flaws noticed on 12 of the double hung bottom slider and Mark immediately ordered replacements at no additional charge to us. I would recommend this company to anyone considering replacement windows.

The work was quoted to start in Sept. and did't start until the the end of Oct. This was almost six weeks late. There is two ways to replace these windows, retro fit or frame out. We paid extra for frame out which means the entire window is removed and the new window is fitted the opening in the house leaving approx. 1/4 around the window for shimming. Some of the new windows were to small, so they decided to add 2 x 4 and plus 1 x 4 to fill in these large gaps. We said and quot; no wayand quot;. They seemed to think that this is a common practice but would order larger windows but added $600.00 for the extra labor which had something to do with this siding. We talked to other contractors and none of them, I repete none, said this is the way to instal windows. Maybe it's me , but should've the owner or salesman or somebody called and ask if we liked the windows or had any concerns after the work was finished. No body ever called! We do like the windows.
Response from Big Sky Exterior Designs Inc
"Our customers are put on the schedule with Microsoft Project. The schedule is updated weekly and all of our customers are contacted weekly as changes in the schedule occur. One of our windows installation teams fell behind on schedule. Their project was moved to a different install team. The customer was asked if this was ok and at the time it was not a problem for the customer. If it would have been, we would have moved someone else on the schedule that had a more flexible schedule and not this customer. Unfortunately the customer did not understand the whole frame out process. Their specific type of window, that was replaced, had a sloped wooden sill. It is common practice to shim the bottom of the opening so no siding has to be cut out with a circular saw exposing the existing brittle siding to chipping and damage. The exterior window trim can then be to installed to the existing siding edge. Since their windows had a sloped sill, the bottom shim brought the window to the existing sheet rock edge on the interior of the home. The windows that we used were no smaller (glass area) than the windows that we removed. We install approximately 1500 windows per year and have been certified by Simonton, our manufacturer, several times over the last 13 years. Simonton is one of the largest window manufacturers in the United States and have been ranked by JD Power as the best window in the United States 6 out of the last 7 years. When our company makes a mistake we will make it right. We are more than happy to give out hundreds of names and addresses of happy customers within eastern Montana, Wyoming and North Dakota."

They did a really good job. Probably one of the better companies we've worked with. They came in and gave an estimate and they actually audio records what we want and takes a shot of what they're going to be doing. They put in writing. Before the work is scheduled, within a couple of weeks or so, they call and let you know when they will be out. They keep you tabs on what they're doing. They did a really nice job with the masonry work. The worker gives you a sheet that asks questions about how they did, etc and you can make comments and suggestions. It's actually a pretty good company.
