Our point of contact was Gary Courtright who did an excellent job in communicating, estimating, and coordinating the repairs and roofing shingle replacement for our rather large and expansive home in Fruit Heights, Utah, where in some years, the canyon winds through our town can exceed 100 MPH. After 25 satisfactory years on our old roof, we contracted Kimball to complete some extensive roofing plywood repairs, re-flashing, re-membraning, and re-edging of the entire 6,000 SF roof. Per Gary's expert advice, plus Louie and Rohojolo outstanding installation, we ended up with a very attractive and fully sealed roof that will probably last twice as long as our previous roof. We now have a Tamko 50 year architectural shingled and ridged roof that can now withstand winds up to 150 MPH. SUPER. JOB WELL DONE !

"They replaced the garage roof at my home. It took forever to hear from them once we signed the contract. The Roof itself looks great. They kind of just showed up whenever the mood struck. No specific times were ever given, even after they told us they were coming to do the roof. The price was not what was agreed upon in the contract. I called & asked if it was possible to have an approximate date (even within a week) when they were coming & they flat out said "No". Most of the roofers did not speak English, so that was a problem. They did not do a good job of cleaning up after themselves. If I had not looked in the driveway after they left, I would have run over a nail!! There were also other stray nails on the sidewalk & in the grass. They did not do a very good job of cleaning up the whole area. They were great until they got the contract signed... then not so great."

You can negotiate roofing payment terms with a contractor, but if you’re working with a reliable, trustworthy roofing contractor, the quote they gave you is probably fair. It’s often not worth haggling over the cost of the job unless you feel it is particularly unfair. If you do, get quotes from other roofing companies to compare prices.
You can technically install a metal roof over asphalt shingles, but it isn’t a good idea. Impact-resistant shingles have the highest wind resistance ratings and will give you the best chance of avoiding wind damage.
