Ibey's started in 1990 as a 2-man sprinkler business. Ernie Ibey, father and founder, started the company with his son Chuck. It was a venture established after Ernie's retirement from teaching. In June 1994 Ernie retired from the sprinkler business as well and his eldest son, Tim, took over working in the business. To this day Ibey's is a family owned and run business where Chuck and Tim can be seen working on projects with the crews. They are joined by sister Dolly the office manager and her husband Fred who serves as the General manager. We are committed to our friends and neighbors of the greater Missoula area. Bahia grass is not difficult to grow, but you might need patience for this slow-growing grass. Whereas some grass species, like Bermuda grass, can take 1 to 2 weeks to germinate, Bahia grass can take two or three times as long, making it seem like it won’t grow. You don’t want to aerate when your grass is dormant, and you also don’t want to aerate directly after a big rain, as the soil will be too wet for the aeration to be effective.

You should put pre-emergent herbicide and fertilizer on your lawn in the spring. Pre-emergent herbicide keeps weeds from taking root. Fertilizer helps your grass to grow lush and dense and blocks future weeds from growing. You can also add amendments, such as sulfur and lime, to enhance your soil quality. 

Aeration is most effective when the soil is slightly moist but not excessively dry or waterlogged. If your lawn's soil is extremely dry, consider watering it a day or two before aeration to facilitate the process. Conversely, avoid aerating when the soil is saturated or excessively wet, as it can lead to poor aeration results and potential damage to your lawn. Finding the right moisture balance is crucial for successful lawn aeration.
