"Betterwest Tree Service is AWESOME! Weston is very personable, reliable, prompt and completes what he says he will do plus does extra things on his own with no extra charge. He is definitely service orientated and it is so refreshing to see this in this greedy world of today. He is very reasonably priced for all the excellent work he and is crew complete. "Our landscaping was in poor shape. We live in a very remote area. Daniel came out and we showed him what we wanted to have done. We knew it would be a two-phase job (removing existing landscaping, trees and rock on our 2 acre parcel. Then designing a new landscape and install). We were trying to get on his schedule for Spring. He was able to perform the tear out and grading immediately and when Spring comes around the new landscaping will be planted. Daniel and Shawn removed all of the old landscaping, including a tree, and trimmed trees. They were on time, thorough and cleaned up all the debris prior to leaving (the tear out took 2 days and several dump runs). Highly recommend Daniel. We can't wait to see what the new landscape design will look like. Will provide photos after phase 2 is completed in the Spring."

"Katie did a great job, she was in and out in 3 days for a job I thought would have taken 5. Large windows on the second story and she had no problem getting way up and cleaning them."

"The guys worked all afternoon and did an exceptional job. We had a solid 8" of packed snow over the entire roof and our gutters were full of ice and the ice was backed 6'-8' up the roof and about 2"-3" deep. After the job was completed, the gutters drain courtesy of the hot steam bath and we can see shingles again. Because they didn't use metal shovels we didn't suffer any shingle damage. I would highly recommend Daniel and Integrity Landscaping for snow and ice removal.. I will be working with them again this summer to install heat strips on the roof so we won't have to go through the ice removal routine again next year."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

On grafted trees, tree suckers will grow from the root stock, not the branches grafted onto it. Therefore, the leaves and characteristics of the suckers aren’t the same as the tree because they are different varieties. Root stock has more hardiness, strength, or drought tolerance than its grafted limbs, so if the suckers are from fruit or flowers, it might be different than the main part of your tree.

The best time to transplant a tree is when it is dormant. For many trees, this means either in the fall after the leaves have dropped (around October or November) or in early spring before new growth begins (around March). The ideal timing can depend on the type of tree. Deciduous trees do well when moved in early spring or fall, while evergreens are best transplanted in early spring or late summer. For example, pine trees are best moved in early fall, but maples prefer late fall. Avoid transplanting in winter, as the frozen or hard, cold soil poses a significant risk to the roots and prevents the tree from acclimating properly.

No. Topping a tree refers to severely cutting down all its major branches and tree in a straight line. It was once recommended for streetside deciduous trees but has fallen out of practice. Topping leads to many problems, removing so much of the tree that many trees struggle to survive and become much more vulnerable to insects and diseases. Also, it doesn’t really help tree growth as once assumed and often leads to an ugly appearance of many sprouting stems in competition to become new main branches.

Trees naturally want to grow upward, so one may straighten all by itself, though this only comes into play when a tree is leaning just a small amount. For trees growing into an awkward position or those leaning heavily in one direction, the above steps are necessary to ensure the tree gets back on the right path. This also holds true for trees planted in a spot with unstable soil.

Most tree removals take 3-8 hours, requiring additional time for stump grinding or debris hauling.
