"The job was done in a proficient and professional manner. The painting crew came in and went over the work to be done to confirm color choices and rooms to be painted. We had already moved all necessary furniture and the crew covered everything with tarps. The work was done very cleanly and fast. The finished rooms look very nice and we are very happy with the final look. Thank you Big Sky Country Contractors for a job well done. We will be giving you a call on our next project."

"The painting was meticulous. I am completely happy with Patrick's attention to detail in his painting and with David's professionalism in all business aspects. The communication among Patrick, Dave and myself was constant and effective. I am now a believer in Valspar paint because it covered walls, ceiling and trim beautifully. I highly recommend Fresh Coat Painting, David and his crew!"

"Sacred Geometry Home Solutions did some exterior and interior painting for some spaces at the Free Cycles community bicycle shop. The work was excellent! The attention to detail was awesome, the work was efficient (without 'cutting corners') and the price was affordable for a professional job, while still being personal. My emal is [email protected] if anyone would like more information on the work performed. Thank you Sacred Geometry! -Bob, Director, Free Cycles Missoula"

Painting questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can limewash surfaces other than brick. Plaster, stone, stucco, and concrete can all also be limewashed. Any porous surface that will absorb the wash is a good candidate for limewash, although it won’t help much with waterproofing. If you choose to limewash over paint, you’ll need to prep before applying it to avoid a powdery, chalky finish. Shiny surfaces like metal or glass can’t absorb limewash, so it’s not suited for these.

Yes, many fence repair services include finishing treatments like sanding, priming, repainting, coating, and rust treatment. These services help restore the fence's original appearance, protect it from corrosion, and enhance its aesthetic appeal. However, since offerings can vary by provider, it is best to confirm what is included before scheduling the work.

Wood stain is not flammable after it dries. The solvent in wood stain is what causes the liquid form to be highly flammable, but the stain drying process involves the solvents dissolving, which leaves behind a non-flammable product on your wood project. Wood stain is, however, flammable before you apply it, so you should always store partially full cans and used wood stain rags away from sources of heat and open flames.

You can apply stain over peeling stain, but it’s not a good idea. Your old stain will get in the way of your new stain bonding to the wood, so you’re likely going to see the same issue again shortly after application. Your best option is to sand off the old stain and clean the surface thoroughly before applying new stain.

If you want to achieve a deeper, darker stain color, wait 5 to 10 minutes before wiping it off. However, wipe it off faster for a lighter tone. When wiping off the stain during this part of the process, be sure to work in the direction of the wood’s grain for best results.
