"The job was done in a proficient and professional manner. The painting crew came in and went over the work to be done to confirm color choices and rooms to be painted. We had already moved all necessary furniture and the crew covered everything with tarps. The work was done very cleanly and fast. The finished rooms look very nice and we are very happy with the final look. Thank you Big Sky Country Contractors for a job well done. We will be giving you a call on our next project."

"Boaz, the owner, was cheerfully willing to do anything we asked to have done. He came when he said he would (or called to say he would be late) and returned to finish work when needed (another coat of paint or mud). We needed a couple of tweaks on the work and he cheerfully came and fixed them with no charge. His work was excellent and he knew just what to do for each task. He was referred to us by another handyman who was too busy and we couldn't have been more pleased with Boaz. He is professional, friendly and knowledgeable. I was very surprised at his work ethic. Many people do not seem to care about the quality of their work. Boaz wants his work to be right and his customers happy. He does what he promises, when he promises, stays until the job is done and does the job right. We hired him again to do more inside painting after our furniture was removed from the house and were just as pleased."

"David and his team did an excellent job refreshing our rental unit! David was super communicative, responsive and prompt. Because of the paint color we chose, the job wound up over budget but David worked with us to make sure the updated cost felt fair. I will definitely employ Fresh Coat Painting again for our paint and remodeling needs!"

"we hired 5 Star Painting to apply stain to the exterior of our condo building and paint trim. They were courteous and very professional. The crew displayed an exceptional level of skill, professionalism and the ability to breakdown the project into manageable elements and finish the job in a seamless manner. We would hire them again."

"Sacred Geometry Home Solutions did some exterior and interior painting for some spaces at the Free Cycles community bicycle shop. The work was excellent! The attention to detail was awesome, the work was efficient (without 'cutting corners') and the price was affordable for a professional job, while still being personal. My emal is [email protected] if anyone would like more information on the work performed. Thank you Sacred Geometry! -Bob, Director, Free Cycles Missoula"

Painting questions, answered by experts

Regular staining, sealing, and inspecting for rot or insect damage prolongs fence lifespan.

Both a roller and a brush are effective methods for painting a chain link fence. A roller will make the job easier by ensuring symmetrical strokes and reaching the backside of the fence as well, which cuts down on paint time. However, a brush is often necessary for painting the base of the fence and near the posts due to its ease of reaching smaller spaces.

Yes, many fence repair services include finishing treatments like sanding, priming, repainting, coating, and rust treatment. These services help restore the fence's original appearance, protect it from corrosion, and enhance its aesthetic appeal. However, since offerings can vary by provider, it is best to confirm what is included before scheduling the work.

You can apply stain over peeling stain, but it’s not a good idea. Your old stain will get in the way of your new stain bonding to the wood, so you’re likely going to see the same issue again shortly after application. Your best option is to sand off the old stain and clean the surface thoroughly before applying new stain.

The general consensus is that two coats of stain are required and since the cedar is siding, a third coat of sealant is always a good idea. This helps protect the wood and stain, so you won’t need to resand and restain for at least a decade. Each stain after the first will darken the wood, so be aware of that when choosing a colored stain.
