"James came within the time window he had promised. To mount our TV he explained the options clearly and then mounted the TV according to our speculations. We would hire him again."

"Oniel communicated w me very quickly regarding mounting a TV for my daughter and also mounting a roman shade in her room. He provided a very fair price. He got the job done very quickly. I will definitely be hiring him again when needed. Glad I was able to find someone in Oxford with competitive pricing for his services!"

"It took them 2 times to reschedule and there was a delay of about 3 weeks from estimate to finished job but most of that delay was related to weather conditions that would have interfered with the job.  They were prompt in contact and responsive to my phone calls regarding changes.  The finished job, seems very well done and I was able to be here for the whole job and watch in detail.  They were able to coordinate with my plumber who was installing a new hot water heater at the same time.  They were right on time at 8 am and called me 30 minutes prior to arrival to let me know they were in route and they worked really hard all day.  This is a chimney job so involved a lot of dust and I would have liked better protection from dust and a better clean up (I had to Shop Vac various sites they worked in and clean up my floors from tracked dirt).  It was not a cheap job but the liner itself is expensive, it's hard, dirty work, needed to be done properly and I watched it and know it was not easy.  There is a warranty on parts and labor.  Bottom line, Chris Hunt and his crew were polite, punctual, worked hard all day long, knew what they were doing, completed chimney work, masonry, and mechanical venting and I would recommend them for this sort of job.  My experience with the larger company, the Fireplace Doctor, is that it is spread out across the East Coast and that the crew that shows up for your job is a bit of random chance and so work quality may vary some.  As to price, this is far more than a chimney cleaning so I cannot really make comparisons to other similar companies.

Tv Mount Install questions, answered by experts

Fire and electronics typically don't mix, but that doesn't mean you can't mount your TV on a brick fireplace. However, you should proceed with caution. If you do not use your fireplace regularly, you can be assured that your TV will remain undamaged. However, if you do take advantage of it, be aware that hot air, containing soot, will travel upwards. Even with the flue fully open, the temperature above the fireplace can still get very high.

If you want to enjoy your favorite movies from the comfort of your backyard or patio, you can mount a TV outside. You’ll want to be thoughtful about its location, ensuring it’s away from water and heat, like a grill or pool. Placing it under a roof, awning, or gazebo is usually a good idea as well for extra protection. Outdoor wiring does add an extra layer of complications with this project, so it may be worth it to hire an electrician to help.

Hiring a pro ensures safe, secure installation, preventing damage to walls and TVs.

Yes, you can mount a TV on plaster walls—as long as you attach it to the studs. Alternatively, you can use toggle bolts, molly bolts, or another type of hardware that’s strong enough to support a TV.

If you aren’t comfortable with this type of project, you can hire a pro. The cost of mounting a TV to a plaster wall ranges from $25 to $600 (or more), depending on the TV’s weight, size, and other factors.

In most cases, you should not put a TV on a fireplace mantel. The minimum width required to put a TV safely on a shelf or mantel is 10 inches, but pre-made mantels are usually too shallow, averaging at only seven inches deep. If you do choose to place a TV above a mantel, it should be mounted to the wall. However, do so cautiously as heat radiating from the fireplace could potentially cause damage to electronics.
