"the whole operation from start to finish , went very smoothly. Price and Co's roofing men, showed up on time, and did a superb job, in both replacing roof decking, where needed, and re shingling...the end result, was a beautiful new roof, sure to be the envy of our neighbors . it was good value, and money well spent. I would recommend Price and Co Roofing & Renovations, to anyone who's in the market to have their roof re done."

"I have worked with Ron and his crew at Trinity Turnkey for several projects now, from small two-hour jobs to major multi-day jobs. They can handle anything and do quality work for a fair price. Always friendly, helpful, willing to answer questions and do everything possible to complete a job to their client’s satisfaction. Will be calling on them again! This time they replaced and repainted rotten wood and all other wood on the house so it all matches and looks new. They also replaced the 30-year old roof on the house and my back yard storage building including pipe boots, flashing, drip edge and ridge vents. All debris was hauled away and my TV satellite put back up. I need to get my bricks powerwashed now and it will look like a new house. Call Ron. You won’t disappointed!"

Roofing questions, answered by experts

16-gauge galvanized steel staples with a minimum crown of 15/16 inches or 24 millimeters are occasionally used to install shingles. However, most shingle manufacturers or residential building codes don’t recommend staples as a roofing fastener. Roofing nails are preferred in most cases, especially in areas that get a lot of heavy wind.

A chimney liner is typically easier to install by pushing it down through the chimney with the help of a rope. Depending on your fireplace and the type of liner, installing it by pushing it up through the chimney could work, but operating from the top down is usually the best option.

Roofers most often use nails to fasten roofing shingles and other roofing materials. Nails have more holding power than staples and offer better weather resistance and longevity. However, it is possible to use staples instead of nails when installing a roof. Staples are less expensive, but not as high-quality.

Sometimes. Professionals may be able to remove the old roof and re-attach it when completed, depending on your blueprints. That can help you save money. But this method is not without its risks. Larger roofs may crack during the transportation process. And if the roof is old or has problems, it may be better to replace it entirely. Keeping the old roof isn’t always possible if you are making significant alterations to the roofline.

Yes, it’s possible to replace drip edge flashing without removing shingles, but it’s not a good idea. You’ll have to lift the bottom shingles up to remove the old drip edge, install the new material, and then lay the lifted roofing material over the new drip edge. Bending roof shingles can cause damage, and if you have ongoing issues with roof leaks that prompt drip edge replacement, it’s a good idea to consider a roof and drip edge replacement to avoid ongoing issues.
