"I am extremely impressed with their professionalism and attention to detail. They took time to make sure our floors and countertops were protected, communicated well on schedule, showed up on time, were very respectful, and made sure the tile and grout details were perfect. I have already made plans for more work. They are definitely a great company and a great find in the tiling business."

"The work was good. We used them on everything we got. He came in cheaper than the other 2 people. I was very pleased with the work. There is nothing negative I can say about them. They don't make excuses, they make it happen."

"I know one thing is that my wife and I wouldn't call anybody else to work for us. The quality work is mind blowing. With very little information give in to them they did everything the way I wanted them to do. Also the price that it cost was way under budget then I thought it would be saving me thousands of dollars that I'm going to put to use. My wife is wanting a deck for our pool so I will be hiring Mr.Green and his works for that also. Thank you Mr. GREEN."

"Michael is very personable and carefully explained to me everything he planeed to do. I received a written estimate and he stood by that estimate even though I think his costs were higher than he anticipated. He finished the fence in good time considering all the rain we have had. I am happy enough with his work that I have now hired him to install a screened in patio area for me."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Tiling can be DIY with the right tools and skills, but challenges like ensuring evenness and appropriate adhesion often warrant professional handling.

Mortar and thinset both serve the same purpose—tile adhesion—but have different compositions and use-cases. Thinset is heatproof and presents a wide range of possibilities due to the added polymers. Mortar is typically used for bonding stones and brick. Thinset is rarely used outside, while mortar is rarely used inside.

You can, in theory, tile your fireplace hearth with most tiles. However just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. For example, it’s much better to use unglazed tiles because glazed tiles are more resistant to cracking under extreme heat. Porcelain is more heat-resistant than ceramic, but you can still design the hearth as you like by putting the most heat-resistant tiles directly under the fire and, if it matches your style, add more decorative tiles further from the center of the fire.

You can often find many types of peel and stick tile at big-box home improvement stores. Other places to shop for this type of material include home decor websites, other types of big-box stores, and even directly from the manufacturer. It’s a good idea to order a tile sample first to see how you like the look and feel before installing it.

The grout shade you choose comes down to personal taste and preference. A darker grout will give you a more dramatic and noticeable contrast with the tile around it; however, lighter grout helps create a more uniform look when blending the colors together. Additionally, a darker grout combined with a patterned tile could be overwhelming to the eye, while lighter grout makes the pattern stand out as the main focus.
