Repairing plaster walls is almost always worthwhile. Pool plaster lasts about 10 years on average for a pool with regular use. Over time, the plaster will degrade and may chip, peel, or crack. Once your pool plaster starts showing signs of age, plan to have it replastered once the weather is right to prevent further damage.

While it’s most common to sand plaster dry, it is possible to wet-sand plaster, too.
