"Technician was on time, knowledgeable, and spent quite a while being very thorough applying chemicals. He stated the bugs would be active for 2-3 days while ingesting chemicals (they were) and that they should disappear after that. It actually took 6-7 days before we felt that we were pest-free, but we finally are."

Small jobs welcome

We are committed to excellence in every aspect of our business. We uphold a standard of integrity bound by fairness, honesty, and personal responsibility. Our distinction is the quality of service we bring to our customers. Accurate knowledge of our trade combined with ability is what makes us true professionals. Above all, we are watchful of our customers' interests, and make their concerns the basis of our business. On January 1, 1946, with $1,200 cash, a used van, a few valuable contacts, and a theme of service, J.C. Redd started the company Redd Pest Control located in Jackson, MS. Over time, Redd Pest Control grew into one of the largest pest companies in the industry covering eight states. In 1999, J.C.’s business was sold by his son Richard, with the exception of several franchised territories owned by family members in Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama.\n

"Terminix was quick to respond and to get out here for a termite inspection, which is what we needed. However, they signed us up for pest control and said their agent would be out to care for us right away. So far haven’t seen him yet. Will give 5 stars if that turns out well."

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

Due to the high temperatures used during heat treatments, many things must be removed from the area. The most vital things to ensure you remove are living things like pets and plants. To prevent damage to your belongings, you should also remove items such as electronics, flammable products, food, and anything else that the heat may damage.

Aside from incorporating smells that roaches hate in your bedroom, such as citronella, lemongrass, or clove oil, there are a few ways you can keep roaches away at night. First, try moving your bed away from the wall, as roaches will often climb the walls and onto your bed. If you’re still having trouble, you can also purchase a mosquito tent for your bed, or hang netting from the ceiling to surround your sleeping area. Make sure it isn’t touching the ground, though, as they may attempt to climb it.

Mice, rats, and other rodents are survivalists. They've developed a set of skills that can help them survive even in challenging, predatory conditions. For that reason, they can be hard to get rid of once they've staked their claim in your home. Often, the best way to get rid of rodents is to keep them from getting into your home in the first place.

Not necessarily. If you see a swarm of flying insects, it could be flying ants or termites, but not always both. However, since these winged pests are attracted to moist and rotting wood, there’s a chance that both species are present at the same time.

To keep wasps away from your home, you can consult with an exterminator about preventative measures and potential follow-up visits. For a non-lethal approach, consider installing a fake wasp nest, as this can deter wasps from building their own nearby. You can also use natural repellents. Wasps dislike the smell of substances like coffee grounds, cinnamon, and vinegar. Additionally, planting certain plants in your garden or in pots near doors can help repel them; these include eucalyptus, peppermint, lemongrass, and basil.
