"Been dealing with a mold issue with my apartment complex, who has not been very helpful regarding the situation at all. Went online to find a 3rd party inspector. Filled out an online form to try to be connected with mold experts in area. One ended up contacting me and getting information regarding the issue, but never contacted me back (most likely due to it being a apartment). Another mold expert (Mark himself) contacted me, and informed me he can come by the next day to do a free inspection. He worked with me to schedule a time that was flexible to my schedule. He was super communicative, shooting me a text to confirm our appointment, to even giving me a call right before heading over. I also found it amazing that he was more than willing to travel over an hour just to provide an inspection to my apartment in Biloxi. During the inspection visit, I asked him to provide a test in order to confirm his visual inspection of mold (just to have proof to provide to my complex). On top of doing the test, he provided me with a discounted price on top of what already was a reasonable price (based off of the prices of the other mold testers)! I did not think he needed to do this at all, especially with the distance driven, but I was super appreciative. This showed how he truly cares for his clients best interests! His great service did not stop there. He typed up an amazing email to document his findings and to draw attention to the serious matter, which then he provided to my complex on my behalf. He has since remained in communication with me to show his support and help see this issue through. I donâ t write reviews often, only when I believe them to be well deserved and in this case it most definitely is! Recommend his service to any and everyone!"

"I received Mr. Walker's number from my brother. He performed our home inspection when we were trying to buy a new home a few years ago. We were very pleased with his services, and we have had no issues with our home since then EXCEPT for the few things he told us to monitor. I would recommend his services to anyone looking for a good quality inspection with a fair, competitive price."

"I hired Atwood Restoration after my kitchen and a bathroom sustained water damage. After reading through reviews, I called this company, and they showed up asap. The remediation team was top notch. Kelly and her team were professional, friendly, and efficient. JT and the restoration team did an outstanding job on the repairs. The whole process was seamless, from working with our insurance company to keeping us informed of the progress and process. I could not be happier with Atwood Restoration."

"I had used a home mold test that had high numbers of a toxic mold present. I called Mold Remediation & Testing Experts who explained that home kits aren t always accurate. They came out and did a professional sampling. The crew was professional and friendly. I got my results back in a day. The test showed my house didn t have a problem at all. Some other companies would have skipped the test and went right into treatment, but not these guys. They did things the right way!"

"As a realtor, I’ve worked with Mark on several projects, including remediation. He not only does great work, but he also takes the time to clearly explain mold reports and what they actually mean. That kind of knowledge is invaluable in this business. He’s my go-to for anything mold-related."

Mold Testing and Remediation questions, answered by experts

Slime mold can thrive for weeks or months in the perfect environment, but that rarely occurs. The mold will typically die within a week of you noticing it. However, it could be dead long before it disappears, and since it’s safe to handle, it’s easier to get rid of it all at once. This eliminates its chance to spread, and also won’t leave you looking at decaying slime mold.

Asbestos fibers can stay airborne for 48 to 72 hours, depending on the home's ventilation. Fibers can linger longer in enclosed spaces with poor airflow. Because the fibers are microscopic, they can easily remain suspended, making them difficult to detect without professional equipment.

While fiberglass dust is not generally considered toxic, inhaling the fibers can cause irritation to the respiratory system, eyes, and skin. Short-term exposure may lead to temporary discomfort, including coughing, throat irritation, and shortness of breath. However, prolonged or chronic exposure can result in more severe respiratory problems. Unlike asbestos, fiberglass is not associated with life-threatening illnesses. To minimize health risks when working with fiberglass materials, it is essential to use proper safety measures, such as wearing protective equipment like masks and goggles.

Although fiberglass dust is generally not considered toxic, inhaling excessive amounts of it can lead to health risks. Irritation to the respiratory system, eyes, and skin are common effects of fiberglass particle inhalation. While short-term exposure to the dust may only cause temporary discomfort, long-term or chronic exposure can lead to more severe respiratory problems.

Proper safety measures, such as wearing appropriate protective equipment, including masks and goggles, should be observed when handling or working with fiberglass materials to minimize health risks. It is important to note that, unlike asbestos, fiberglass is not associated with life-threatening illnesses.

A funky smell is the first indicator that mold or mildew is present in your home. You may also notice that you or your household members are suffering from increased allergies or respiratory issues. You should check the most obvious areas first—like your bathroom or anywhere there might be leaks—and if you still can’t locate the source, look under the floorboards.
