"I hired Neli over a week period for 3 different appliances, my dryer, washing machine, dishwasher, and even kitchen sink! I had a fantastic experience: 1. I fixed my dryer with Thomas' excellent remote guidance, changing the timer and the switch! Fabulous guidance Thomas, with lots of money saved! I learned a lot in the process. 2. I determined that there was no dishwasher leak and in the process learned how to check for leaks and trouble shoot for some common repair issues. It cost $40.00 but as I had some water on the floor, I was ready to get a new dishwasher. Now, I am confident that it wasn't a leak and caused by putting in the dishes in a funny manner and not a repair issue. I am using the dishwasher now again with no problem. 3. I determined with Thomas' help that the washing machine had a major problem and could have spun out of control into my wall....no question, it was time to get a new washing machine! This was a well spent $40.00--I even got Thomas advice on purchasing a new washing machine and what to look for. 4. I checked the drainage on my kitchen sink and learned how to empty out the "trap" and that most likely, I am okay, but what to swap out if I have continuing issues with slow drainage. In the end, I saved lots of money, gaining and learning valuable experience! Absolutely fabulous service!"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

New homes in MS require basic maintenance and proper exterior grading. As properties reach twenty to forty years old, expect to replace aging water heaters and address root intrusion in sewer lines. Older Carthage homes require full pipe replacements to remove corroded galvanized steel or failing cast iron. Throughout your home's lifespan, shifting clay soil continuously stresses underground lines, making regular camera inspections an essential part of your maintenance routine.

Helpful?

Cosmetic plumbing updates involve swapping out old fixtures for a fresh look and offer flexible scheduling. Functional projects address serious issues like burst pipes from a hard freeze or failing drain lines. These structural repairs require immediate attention to prevent severe water damage in MS homes. Always hire a licensed professional for functional work to ensure your system meets safety standards and local building codes.

Helpful?

Your home’s foundation and age are crucial details for planning plumbing work in Carthage. Older properties feature open crawl spaces that leave pipes exposed to freezing temperatures. Knowing your construction era helps identify aging materials like galvanized steel or cast iron. You also need to confirm whether your MS home relies on a private well or municipal water, and if you use a septic system rather than a city sewer connection.

Helpful?

Keep children and pets away from open crawl spaces during plumbing repairs to protect them from hazards and local wildlife. For older Carthage homes, install anti-scald devices on fixtures to prevent accidental burns from water heaters in unconditioned spaces. Secure all septic tank lids and block off drain field areas. If you use a private well, test your water regularly to ensure it remains safe for your family.

Helpful?

Watch for clear signs of trouble after winter freezes in Carthage. Check for reduced water pressure or wet spots in your crawl space, indicating cracked pipes. Leake County’s shifting clay soil also stresses underground lines, causing slow drains or soft spots in the yard. If you use well water, look out for sediment or strong sulfur odors. Address these issues promptly by scheduling plumbing repairs to protect your home.
