"David arrived onsite early, worked on immediate blockage clearing, then reviewed the entirety of the sewer system for any required repairs, leaving me an estimate and return date for repairs. David and helper returned as intended and installed a 2-way clean-out, then repaired a connection under the house. Labor costs were reasonable and within local norms. David and crew were timely and professional. I look forward to using them again - hope its not too soon, though. ;-)"

"Very professional and fast. This was a home warranty call. Toilet was leaking and damaging downstairs ceiling. Called home warranty and they picked draingo. They came in and diagnosed it as a damaged wax ring and replaced it. They were in and out within a matter of 30 minutes. I highly recommend based on this experience.

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

The cost to repair a main sewer line clog is about $3,110 on average. The average cost range is  $1,310 to $4,950, but it can go as low as $215 and as high as $9,300 or more. The cost factors for this repair include the severity of the clog, pipe accessibility, video inspection, removal method, permits, pipe material, labor rates in your area, and time of year. Repairs made from outside during the winter can be more difficult due to the frozen ground or during the spring if the ground is saturated from a lot of rain and snow melt.

That pungent rotten egg smell coming from your drain is likely the buildup of biofilm—hair, skin, and soap scum that turns into a black sticky mess. In this case, pouring down near-boiling water, baking soda, and white vinegar will remove the smell. Keep in mind that a rotten egg smell is occasionally a sign of larger sewage line clogs and other related issues.

You should hire a sewer service professional to unclog a main sewer line with tree roots. Tree roots can grow into the main sewer line, and this problem requires a specialized hydro jet, or rooter, that is powerful enough to clear the roots. The tree can also damage the main sewer line, and a professional will need to make repairs or replace the damaged sections. Sewer line replacement costs about $60 to $250 per linear foot.

Yes, hiring a drain cleaner is worth it, especially when compared to the cost of not being able to use a sink, shower, toilet, or bathtub and the potential damage that flooding can cause in your home. You might try a temporary drain cleaning liquid or snaking it yourself, but if the clog is out of reach or these methods do not work, then hiring a professional drain cleaner is the way to go.

Clearing typically takes 1-2 hours, depending on the blockage size and location.
