"To be truthful i was very skeptical hiring anyone to put on a new deck because of all the horror stories you hear of contractors taking your deposit and never returning to finish the job. BUTâ ¦ meeting with Jacob Quick made it all very easy. I met with Jacob many times because of my apprehension and having issues with making decisions. After signing a contract, Jacob kept in contact with me on starting date, permit issues, when materials would be delivered, and if there was inclement weather conditions that they could not work that day. From the start of teardown to the finished project, they were there every day at 7:30, making sure that time was ok with me. They had a crew of 4-5 people working all day. When an issue came up, they were up front and we discussed it. I felt very relieved that all the guys were very knowledgeable and experienced. I am picky when it comes to details and the entire crew were all very concerned about the littlest details. Brian was also great at answering my questions as the deck was being built. They wanted me to be highly satisfied and i surely was. Not only did they do an outstanding job building the sturdiest deck around but when they left my house, you couldn't even tell they were thereâ ¦ my yard was clean. Soâ ¦ yes i would hire them again. They made the entire experience easy peasy for me. Also kudos to the other guys on the team who also worked their butts off in the 100 degree weather. "Seth Rogers is an artist, much more than a woodworker. He came to our house in the midst of a blackout(yes, we were ground zero for the latest St. Louis tornadoes). No power at our house was unable to deter Seth from getting the job done. He arrived promptly, even with the traffic woes, and fired up his pappy’s generator and got going. We feel so lucky to have found an artist who will uphold the age and design of our home. So much so, that we have already hired Seth for another job. "I had an appt. set up that I couldn’t make an made an attempt to cancel prior. The day of I received a text asking if we were still meeting today. I texted back saying I thought I had canceled but could not meet that day. I received 2 texts back that were not professional, the 2nd text stating I should be more responsible. I waited 2 days and called the guy back (Rick) and discussed the situation. I did ask him if that was an appropriate response he provided and he said probably not. I then hung up. I received more texts back that were not professional so I called again to talk to him. He states he never received a cancellation from me but I did make an attempt at the number I thought was his. I’m not sure what happened and I asked him if he was so desperate for work that he treats all cancellations like this. Rick was really only interested in letting me know how irresponsible I am. That’s his end game. That’s the message he wanted to hammer home to me. He said he wasn’t on his way when he called the day of to confirm so I’m not sure what his issues are but he really likes to play the irresponsible customer angle. I would avoid this business at all costs, you never know what kind of text/call, etc. you will receive, unless you prefer to deal with junior high school behavior. With this type of mindset, you probably don’t want him in your home either."
