RSI Kitchen and Bath
About us
My grandfather founded RSI in 1947. Over the last seven decades, we have transformed our family business from its modest start into the largest kitchen & bath design center in the area. However, our core values have never changed. We still pride ourselves on our excellent products, personalized service and highly experienced team of professionals. But, what really makes it all worthwhile are the beautiful spaces we create, the relationships we have built and the families we have watched grow… just like our own family. To this day, RSI is a local, family-owned business and if you ever want to speak to the owner, just ask.

He was also very patient in making this sale. The unit he recommended had been sold out of the display, so he ordered a new display unit for us to look at before purchasing it. We liked what we saw and bought the Dacor, and Jim made sure it was ordered and delivered within the stated timeframe. Rather than pressing us to use one of their installers, he was open to our using a vendor we knew. Bottom line, we couldn't be more pleased with our cooktop or the service we received from RSI, and will not hesitate to go to them again when we replace our wall oven next year. We also would not hesitate to recommend them to others.
First of all, I wanted the cabinet to have a door on the left side, and drawers on the right side. The hand drawing I was shown suggested that that was what I was going to get. That was my first mistake, NEVER EVER accept a hand drawing for something that you can't see in person or on a computer design screen. The cabinet I got had a door that was 2/3 the width on the left and some very narrow drawers comprising 1/3 the face on the right. Not only that, the proportions of the drawer front pattern totally does not match the pattern of the door. ( see picture ). Notice the thin top and bottom edge on the drawers vs the door. Furthermore, the drawers were crooked, however this was fixed with a repair visit. The door and drawer closing hardware works fine.
The manager of RSI was prompt in getting back to me but all he offered me was a total redo ( at my cost ! ) to get the door/drawer proportions to my liking. But on further review, I realized that that would cause problems with the sink drain placement so I decided to not pursue that avenue.
Then the remaining problem was the drawer fronts. For some reason, the manager didn't seem to be able to or want to have the vanity manufacturer remake the drawer fronts correctly. Instead, he offered that he could find a local company that could remake them, again at my cost! This time, about $200.
fyi, the actual cabinet manufacturer is UltraCraft. I had also copied them on the email chain with the RSI manager but never saw a response from them.
Obviously, this is not the place to do business with because every problem becomes your problem.
We were very happy with our experience with RSI Kitchen and Bath.
The cabinet lines that they represent span many price points. In the end, we chose a semi-custom line that allowed us to have quality construction at a budget-friendly price. Their selection range from the traditional to the modern. We had the option of purchasing everything right down to the cabinet hardware and tile. We took advantage of this with the bathroom remodel but not with the kitchen. If we were to do it again, I would just purchase everything through them. The time spent chasing down backsplash tile orders, hardware and plumbing was not worth the small savings.
We used their installation services for the master bath install. The sub-contractors (plumbing, electrical) as well as their installers were professional and respectful of our house. The carpet was covered to prevent it from being damaged as they went in and out of the house. Someone came by every afternoon to clean-up the site. There was no dawdling. They arrived on time and with all the materials they needed to complete the job. Since the kitchen remodel was part of an addition to our house, we used our general contractor to install the kitchen. At the end of the day, we regret not having used RSI for that install as well.
Both for the kitchen and the bath remodels, we used their design services. We worked with Brian. He was very flexible, showing us different design options and listening to our wants/needs. He was very knowledgeable and patient throughout the selection process. And even though RSI did not install the cabinets in the kitchen, Brian was very conscientious and detail oriented regarding the install. He made himself available to the general contractor to make installation easier and to ensure that we got the look we wanted. There are so many details that, as a homeowner, we wouldn't have thought of but Brian did. I was able to rely on him for many of the overwhelming decisions that had to be made throughout the process.
We did have a minor issue with the kitchen. The cabinet over the hood was ordered incorrectly and one door arrived damaged from the manufacturer. But RSI did not flinch, they just corrected the mistake. They did not try to make something work that wasn't right. It was reassuring to us that RSI is a professional company that stands behind their designers and vendors.
Our experience with RSI Kitchen and Bath was positive both times we've used them. They helped make the difficult task of remodeling much easier. We would trust them again for future remodels.
CABINETS We ordered cabinets and appliances from RSI. One cabinet and another piece were badly damaged upon arrival - both were replaced without question. Deadlines were met. Quality is good.
We are happy to recommend the services of RSI, we will definitely be back for a second project.
