"I hired TrueCare Landscaping to clear out a bunch of severely over grown shrubs and weeds in our front and back yards. Leon and Karen did an outstanding job on a very big project! Leon even removed a dead tree for me that was not part our original agreement. I was so pleased with their work that I chose TrueCare over two other companies to come back for major tree trimming, and removal of 4 very large trees and 3 large arborvitaes. Leon had a highly experienced guy on his crew who removed those limbs with great skill. All debris was removed leaving the yard clean. Leon and his crew did a fabulous job on the project!! Leon cares a great deal about the quality of work his crew performs and it shows. They deliver on the scope of work agreed upon and went above and beyond. Communication throughout both projects was excellent. Leon and his crew were an absolute pleasure to work with. I highly recommend TrueCare Landscaping!"

"Dan was great. He was on time for my estimate meeting and on time for the work. He trimmed all my bushes and mulched my garden. He is coming back next week to trim a larger tree that I didn't know he could do as well, since it is a very large tree. I would highly recommend his business. And will do more business in the future. Thank you!"

Small jobs welcome

"JSN Lawncare was punctual and did an excellent job in cleaning up the fallen leaves. They also took care of my neighbors yards as well. They were professional, polite and most accommodating. And their pricing is most competitive. I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants a quality cleanup job at an amazing price. I will call them again once the remainder of my leaves fall and have them do their magic once again. I would rate them a 10!"

The best way to remove lead paint is by wet hand sanding and removing all dust and residue with a HEPA vacuum. Professionals may also strip and scrape lead-based paint with a paint scraper. In some cases, you may choose to have a pro encapsulate or enclose your lead-based paint surface by covering it with a sealant or a new material. You may also choose to replace the material altogether.

Household products such as paints, cleaners, oils, and batteries are considered hazardous and should not be disposed of with regular household waste. Instead, look for local household hazardous waste collection facilities where you can safely dispose of these items without harming the environment or human health.

Embarking on a kitchen demolition comes with its share of risks to keep in mind. Think of potential encounters with asbestos, sharp objects, and power tools—not to mention the peril of structures wobbling or unexpected plumbing surprises. And, of course, you will be surrounded by dust and debris throughout the process. All of the above makes safety gear necessary, or you can consider hiring a qualified professional.

Professional lead-paint abatement companies use a variety of methods to remove lead-based paint, depending on each particular situation. Some of the most common methods include:

  • Total removal: $8–$17 per square foot

  • Demolition and replacement: $1,000–$15,000 per project

  • Encapsulation: $4 per square foot

  • Enclosure: $10 per square foot

  • Chemical stripping: $10–$17 per square foot

While not all homes built before 1978 contain lead paint, enough do, so you’ll still want to test to be on the safe side. The federal government banned lead-based paint for homes in 1978, but your state may have banned lead before that time. Around 24% of homes built between 1960 and 1977 contained lead-based paint, while 87% of homes built before 1940 contained lead-based paint.
