"Great experience with this project. The crew delivered in everyway. Installed in just one day and that included the demolition of the existing bathtub insert. Any issue that came up was fully discussed with me and they made sure I understood it and how it would be taken care of. "I got two exterior doors and a storm door. I am in love with the quality and look of these doors. They were on the more expensive side but the sales person worked with me to find the most affordable option. I feel at ease in knowing these doors are of the highest quality and a warranty to back them up! Thank you Mad City Windows!!!"

"Excellent! I continue to hire Jericho to renovate my older home. Why? Because I have never dealt with a finer company than Jericho Home Improvements. Their attention to detail and punctuality is unsurpassed.

Jericho's bathroom installer was as meticulous as the kitchen installer they sent out earlier this year. Their bathroom design was awesome! Because I have an older home, I had little room for my master bath. They created a stunning tile and granite bathroom and paired it exceptionally with my master bedroom. For my Master, they tore out two bedrooms and made one larger bedroom. The existing rooms had hardwood floors underneath the old teal green carpeting. The floors were far from perfect, so Jericho had to splice in wood flooring to match up to the 50 year old flooring. Wow! It turned out beautifully. It looks like I have a brand new floor. Heck, my entire home looks brand new, thanks to Jericho. One would never guess it's nearly 50 years old.

Thank you, Jericho!

note: I am going to attempt to submit photos, please ignore the ladder in the bedroom pic. I don't have "before" pics for the Master bedroom and bath but, take my word for it, the rooms were tiny and very dated."

"The has done a wonderful on helping restore this 1912 home and I continue to call them back to do more projects and plan to book them for other homes I own. The main drain line was rusted and cracked from the basement floor all the way up to the second floor bathroom, which they replaced. This requires tearing down an old plaster and putting in new drywall that turned out seamless. I decided to turn an old pantry into a laundry room. They ran the plumbing and electrical for the room, framed the old doorway and drywalled it. Many rooms had old switches and outlets that they replaced. Ceiling fans were old and replaced. The former for the attic was missing siding and the windows were falling apart. They resided, painted and installed new windows. They set a new toilet and installed a new vanity which required new water lines. Relocating the vanity also meant running a new switch and installing a new vanity light."

"We hired Bryan Casey Construction to finish our basement. They did quality work from the initial design and layout to the final touch ups. Each stage of the work was generally on time and the workers were professional and helpful. Julie was great to provide design consultation and kept us up to date on the project status. Bryan was on site to oversee pieces of the project, as needed. They were quick to fix any issues that were encountered along the way. We are very pleased with the end result and highly recommend the company!"

Storm Shelters questions, answered by experts

Ranch and colonial-style homes are often the most affordable to build. They have a common layout with available designs that are easy to adjust in simple ways without having to spend too much on a structural engineer or architect. Both types of homes' symmetry, simple roofs, and often one or two-story plans mean they often fall in the $150 to $200 square-foot range, putting them right around average.

No, tiny houses don’t have to have wheels. However, if you plan on traveling with your tiny house and want to use it as a transportation method, it’s a good idea to buy a tiny house with wheels or put wheels on one. If you plan to stay put and live full-time in your tiny house, wheels aren’t necessary.

This is a matter of personal preference. However, building a detached structure is generally considered better if you intend to rent out the new space. The advantage to going with an attached garage addition is that you may pay less for plumbing, HVAC, and other features because you can use the existing systems from your home to carry over piping and wires.

Adding an extension or addition to your home costs more than a loft conversion in all but the rarest cases where the home's structural integrity is lacking. Because a home addition requires a new foundation section or significant structural upgrades to handle a cantilevered portion, the cost compared to almost any loft conversion is significantly greater for the same square footage.

Common pitfalls include underestimating the cost of site preparation, overlooking permit and utility fees, and not setting aside funds for unexpected changes. Change orders during construction can disrupt your budget. It’s best to plan a detailed budget, obtain multiple quotes, and include a 10% to 15% contingency fund for unexpected expenses.
