"They did a wonderful job and were great to work with. They replace some porch boards, painted the garage door and front door, replaced weatherstripping around garage, painted the trim around the front of the house and the windows as well as painted the porch. They had started work and had to pause because of a storm but were really prompt about rescheduling to two days later and got the job done really well. Would definitely recommend and we plan to hire them again!"

"I am beyond pleased with Mr. Steam Cleaningsâ work. We were in the process of moving and needed our carpets cleaned. They did an excellent job removing stains and making the carpet ready to be moved into again. In addition, they were very professional and friendly, and I will most certainly hire this company again if the need arises. I would most certainly recommend this company."

"It is a waste of money. The great majority of people are not going to find any value out of the service. If you need design consultation, you need a full service consultation. If you already have knowledge and experience, and you just need to get a few ideas, then you don't need to pay for that. You can just get a magazine or a book since you already have the knowledge of basic designs in your head or a little bit of experience. To have someone call you and give you information over the phone, you are not getting the personal service that you need. You may as well take the money $49 and apply it to something else like getting someone else to come out and give you the service that you need. Because, you are not getting much, you are not getting anything at all. They are going to have you do the work. After talking to them and I was talking to other home designers, I found out that that was a waste of time and waste of money. I gave them a C because they didn't fail at what they do but they don't offer any value for what they do. There's not much value to it. The cost was fair. They didn't do a terrible job and the cost isn't terrible, it was only $49. It just has a very low value. For responsiveness I gave them a B because they will answer your phone and answer your emails."

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

Before contacting a Springfield upholsterer, measure your furniture and take clear photos from multiple angles, highlighting any damage. Note the current fabric type, any history of water exposure, and whether the piece has been kept in a basement or attic. Mention if you have pets or allergies, and specify your preferred style and durability needs. This preparation ensures local pros can recommend the best solutions.

Helpful?

In Springfield, cosmetic upholstery projects focus on updating fabric and minor padding, ideal for furniture with solid frames. Functional projects address deeper issues like broken springs or weakened frames, which are common after years of use in MO’s variable climate. Functional repairs take longer and may involve structural reinforcement, while cosmetic updates are quicker. Both benefit from choosing moisture-resistant, durable fabrics suited to Springfield’s environment.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Springfield typically choose the fabric type, color, and pattern, considering local humidity and sunlight exposure. You’ll also decide on cushion firmness, stain-resistant treatments, and whether to upgrade padding or springs. Discuss access challenges, like narrow staircases, with your upholsterer. If you need a quick turnaround or have specific durability concerns, communicate these early to ensure your furniture meets your expectations.

Helpful?

In Springfield, delaying upholstery work can lead to accelerated fabric deterioration due to the region’s humidity and seasonal temperature swings. Moisture can seep into cushions and frames, encouraging mold, mildew, and even pest infestations. Over time, this can weaken the furniture’s structure, making repairs more complex. Prompt reupholstery helps protect your investment and keeps your furniture safe for everyday use in Springfield’s climate.

Helpful?

In Springfield, faded or stained fabric, sagging cushions, or worn padding usually indicate a need for upholstery services. If you notice loose joints, creaking frames, or unstable legs, furniture repair may be required instead. Persistent musty smells or visible mold suggest moisture issues common in MO, which should be addressed before any upholstery work to prevent recurring problems.
