"The problem turned out to be a burned out small electric door switch. I believe the price was way too expensive for the service performed and the price of the door switch. What more can I say? It got done."

"Matt showed up on time every time he was scheduled to come out and went above and beyond! They did all new electrical from the outside all the way to the inside of my sons home in order to bring it up to code. After they bid the contract and there were actually a few things that were left out that came up during the job. Instead of increasing the price on us they just handled it on their end. I was very pleased with their work and working with them was great! They displayed honesty, integrity, and because of that I have been referring them to others."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Sikeston’s humid subtropical climate, with its heavy rains and temperature shifts, means electrical installations need extra protection. Outdoor wiring should be sealed and weatherproofed to prevent moisture intrusion. In flood-prone areas like basements, use moisture-resistant materials and elevate outlets when possible. Planning for surge protection and regular inspections before storm season helps ensure your electrical system withstands Sikeston’s unpredictable weather.

Helpful?

In Sikeston, replacing outlets or installing new fixtures typically takes 1–4 hours. Adding circuits or upgrading bathroom wiring may require 4–8 hours. Larger projects, like electrical panel upgrades or whole-home surge protection, can take 1–3 days. Complete rewiring or new construction might last up to a week, with weather conditions and permit approvals in Sikeston sometimes extending these timelines.

Helpful?

For electrical projects in Sikeston, choose copper wiring for its durability and resistance to corrosion, especially in humid conditions. Use THWN-2 or XHHW-2 wire for outdoor or damp locations. Install GFCI outlets in kitchens, bathrooms, and basements, and select weatherproof electrical boxes for exterior use. Moisture-resistant conduit and whole-home surge protection help safeguard electrical wiring against Sikeston’s frequent storms and temperature swings.

Helpful?

In Sikeston, plugging high-wattage devices into overloaded circuits, skipping surge protection before storm season, and using standard outlets in damp areas can all lead to premature wear. Blocking ventilation around electrical panels, ignoring early signs of rust, and failing to seal outdoor connections allow moisture to damage wiring. Regular maintenance and mindful use help extend the lifespan of your electrical system in Sikeston.

Helpful?

In Sikeston, address urgent electrical issues—such as sparking outlets, persistent breaker trips, or signs of water damage—right away, especially after storms. For upgrades like adding circuits or improving electrical wiring for seasonal appliances, plan ahead of peak heating or cooling months. Less urgent projects, such as installing new lighting or outlets, can be scheduled during milder fall weather when contractors are more available in Sikeston.
