My name is Adam I am an electrician I have been in the field over 5 years full time. I learned electrical out of high school and worked for the local IBEW Union. After moving around with my spouse who was Career Air Force I ended up back where we grew up doing electrical work for a couple places. My current job is not providing full time work so I'm looking to move to a different company

"Matt showed up on time every time he was scheduled to come out and went above and beyond! They did all new electrical from the outside all the way to the inside of my sons home in order to bring it up to code. After they bid the contract and there were actually a few things that were left out that came up during the job. Instead of increasing the price on us they just handled it on their end. I was very pleased with their work and working with them was great! They displayed honesty, integrity, and because of that I have been referring them to others."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Yes, it’s safe to strip a wire if you follow the proper safety precautions. First and foremost, you must always disconnect the power and never try stripping a live wire. Using wire strippers is another safety precaution, but don’t forget to keep your fingers away from the blade. It’s also critical you only remove the insulation and not accidentally cut into the conductor, which is unlikely as long as you’re using the right-sized wire stripper.

Licensed electricians should perform work for safety reasons; improper installations can prove hazardous or result in code violations currently.

Electrical meter risers connect your home’s electrical meter to overhead power lines so you can receive electrical service from the grid. Electrical meters also have a weatherhead, which protects the utility lines connected to your home’s electrical system via the service entrance cable. Risers connect the weatherhead to your electrical meter socket, which connects to the meter.

If you encounter any issues or feel unsure about your abilities, stop immediately and contact a licensed electrician for help. It's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to electrical work, as mistakes during the wiring process can be hazardous to your home and personal safety.

Unless you’re a licensed electrician with extensive experience in upgrading electric panels, you must hire a professional for any electrical work. A licensed electrician will make sure your breaker is upgraded safely and in compliance with local codes. Your pro will also take care of any permits and inspections that are needed.
