"It's high time to complement Adam at the Vac Shack in Festus! I called yesterday asking if he could clean and check out our aging Dyson 14 vacuum cleaner. He said he could, that's he'd be open at 9:30 Wednesday -- he was and he did! He tore it down completely, replacing belts, cleaning everything, including a filter I frankly never saw before, and sent me out with an "all-up" machine. And as he promised, he did it while I waited to keep me from making two 96-mile round trips from Waterloo, IL. This is service in the best sense of the word! Thank you!"
"John was great! He came right away, on a Sunday, and put a new central vac unit in for me. I love the new unit, it is so much better than my old unit!"
"Furance was not working, call House Doctor. They were out the next day and got it back up and running. Professional and efficient. Plus, very affordable."

"Fast courtious service. The installer was the owner himself, and he did not stop untill the installation was complete. He cleaned up after himself as he went along. We love our new central vac system."
"The service was real professional - great - I mean real nice! I was very pleased to see that they took the initiatives to do those "extra" little things that I would not have normally expected: I only expected vacuuming, dusting, general counter cleaning and general tidying.
Some examples:
Dusting ...they made sure they moved all items from surfaces and properly cleaned the surfaces before putting the items back. The cleaned under these items and must have used a glass cleaner because those surfaces were proper. They not only dusted the ceiling fans, but they did a proper cleaning to remove all dirt on the blades. They dusted the baseboards near the carpet, top of the door, blinds - everything.
My flat screen TVs ? screens clear!
Vacuuming ...carpets looked great. I think they put a freshener on the carpet before vacuuming because my place smelled beautiful when I came home. Kitchen and bathroom floors - No dirt/hairs/stains. The floors are shiny.
Counters and sinks - All stains, hard stains, debris - are gone. Stove ? top degreased. Bathrooms - everything clean! Tidying ? Properly arranged my books and all items. Trash bags ? changed. Again, they did much more than I expected and were real professional on how they dealt with me, their work and their follow-up.
Frankly I am completely satisfied. - and then more!"
"He responded very quickly and was able to come out and fix my mini split. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for a fair price and good work. Thanks again!"
"It was ok. I brought out the Shark vacuum cleaner but they still just used their dust mop and broom? Soap scum was left on the shower door in the downstairs bathroom. I am not picky but my sweetheart noticed that when she got home and inspected the job."
"Great work. Great communication. Replaced the outlets and covers in my master bedroom. Cleaned up after himself. Got me on the schedule quicker than I expected. Definitely will recommend and use again."

Central Vacuum Cleaners questions, answered by experts
For the average-size house, a central vacuum installation usually takes one day of work by a team of professionals. Large houses may take two or more days. But if you are planning on a DIY project, it’s likely to take much longer. We suggest getting a few estimates for a project this big and fully understanding all the requirements before you make a decision about installation. Certain parts of your house may not be usable during the installation, and you may want to make other plans.
Experienced professionals don’t usually need to take down drywall to install the central vacuum. They are experienced in working in the tight spaces between walls and in crawl spaces to minimize any damage. The only drywall changes should be the holes cut for the new outlets. However, home design, existing plumbing, and other factors may require some modification. An estimate from a professional contractor should include information if any changes need to be made.
The disadvantages associated with central vacuums start with cost. They are expensive to install, especially in existing homes, as retrofitting requires opening walls. The system's bulky hoses can also be inconvenient to maneuver and store compared to portable vacuums. Additionally, repairs may need professional service, adding to maintenance costs. Lastly, while powerful, they may be overkill for smaller homes or apartments, making the investment less practical for some households.
They’ll use more electricity than the average upright vacuum, but not remarkably more. Most power units plug into a standard 120-volt outlet and don’t have significant power demands. You shouldn’t notice an increase in electricity bills. If you have any specific questions about energy costs, ask your installer as you examine purchase decisions. Larger power units will need more electricity for their suction levels.
A central vacuum system can be a worthwhile investment depending on your needs and budget. While the upfront cost is higher than a traditional vacuum cleaner, it offers significant long-term benefits. These systems can save you time and make cleaning your home easier, as you only need to carry the hose and vacuum head, eliminating the need to lug a heavy unit up and down stairs. They also tend to operate more quietly and can improve indoor air quality. The convenience and performance over many years may make it a valuable addition to your home if you can budget for the initial installation.
