About us
The Vac Shack, locally owned and operated for 31 years has been providing greater St. Louis, MO and surrounding communities outstanding quality built-in and central vacuum system sales, service, and installation in both new and existing homes. We also service and install in commercial applications. We sell the best American made products from companies like MD Manufacturing, but can service all brands both new and old. We also specialize in retrofitting central vacuum systems into existing homes, and can usually do so without having to cut holes or open any walls. We are dealers for and install the Hide-A-Hose retractable hose system, which stores the vacuum hose neatly inside of the piping when not in use. We accept most forms of payment including check, cash, all major credit cards. No job is too big or too small, and no job is too far away. Please don't hesitate to call us because you think you may be located too far away from us. We can come to you, and often the same day!

It's high time to complement Adam at the Vac Shack in Festus! I called yesterday asking if he could clean and check out our aging Dyson 14 vacuum cleaner. He said he could, that's he'd be open at 9:30 Wednesday -- he was and he did! He tore it down completely, replacing belts, cleaning everything, including a filter I frankly never saw before, and sent me out with an "all-up" machine. And as he promised, he did it while I waited to keep me from making two 96-mile round trips from Waterloo, IL. This is service in the best sense of the word! Thank you!

Evan fixed 2 of my outlets, had a carpet head to sell me to replace my broken one (YAY!) , macgyvered my existing hose with some electrical tape so that I may get a little more life out of it (Double YAY!) and checked out my base unit in garage to ensure all was in working order. Minor detail in retrospect- he was 15-20 min late. But once he arrived and fixed my repairs in a timely manner I was glad for the wait.

Evan came in a timely fashion, worked efficiently and was very knowledgeable about my home's central vacuum system even though it had been installed by some else years ago. He is a hard worker who obviously knew what he was doing. No high pressure sales!! I honestly think he did a great job. I would definitely recommend him to friends as well as use his services in the future. Great Job!!!

Evan, owner and technician, was extremely polite, knowledgeable, and skilled. He took extra time to answer all my questions which, in turn, helped my husband and I to feel comfortable making the investment to replace our old unit. He had our problem diagnosed and a new unit installed in just a few hours; he even went above and beyond, taking extra time to clean some of our attachments to ensure we were up and running as good as new! I appreciated the honest, excellent customer service and highly recommend him and his business!
