"Ron, our installer, was absolutely wonderful! He arrived on time, was pleasant, and efficient. Ron worked on New Year's Eve, was close to finishing his job, but could have stretched it into the next day. Rather than leaving us "in the dark," he worked until the job was completed that day. We appreciate all the hard work from Ron! We definitely recommend Reinhold for any of your electric needs!"

"Nathan of N3 Electrical Service did an amazing job for us. He was always prompt, communicated effectively and did a quality job. He installed a new 200 amp panel and new wiring for a kitchen remodel. Once the project was completed, the county inspector even complimented the quality of the work"

"I am very happy with Line Electric service, probably the best electrician I have hired. It was a difficult job with old wiring in an old house, but he was methodical and efficient identifying and fixing the issue. Very professional and I will definitely hire again. I have hired a lot of contractors and I highly recommend Line Electric."

"Handyman was prompt in sending a carpenter who was available quickly. He was very timely courteous and well skilled. I was surprised by the price but failed to question it since I did not know what skills or time it would require, beyond the statement that he would be coming for 2 days. I am very happy with the quality of the work but now know I need to ask more questions.
I would use them again and do recommend Handyman

Electrical questions, answered by experts

If your fan is ceiling-mounted and will vent through the attic to the outside, you will need an electrician to handle the wiring, and if you need to install ductwork for the first time or replace existing ductwork, you will need an HVAC professional as well.

Yes, wires are still hot, even if the light switch is off. The only way to ensure the wire is no longer live and that you can work with it safely is to open your circuit breaker, locate the breaker for the outlet you’re working with, and turn off the breaker for that outlet.

While most electrical items can be plugged into a GFCI outlet, some appliances with internal or stationary motors, such as refrigerators, vent fans, and fluorescent lighting, can cause nuisance tripping. This happens because they experience a small, normal amount of current leakage, which can cause the GFCI to trip even when the appliance is working correctly. Although this is not a safety hazard, it can be inconvenient and may cause the GFCI outlet to wear out faster. For this reason, it is often better to plug these types of appliances into a standard outlet. Additionally, electrical circuits over 100 feet long can sometimes cause tripping. Some appliances, like hair dryers, have their own built-in GFCI protection, so connecting them to a standard outlet is fine.

No, there aren’t additional code requirements for kitchen lights. Kitchen lights and other electrical circuits in the kitchen have different code requirements. Outlets need to be particularly robust because of their frequency of use and proximity to liquids. If you need help determining where to install outlets in your kitchen, consult a local electrician who can ensure that placement is functional and up to code.

An electrician will charge between $100 to $150 to install a new light switch. Whether you need to cut into the wall and repair drywall will determine your final project cost, as you can expect to pay $50 to $75 per square foot to repair drywall.
