"Huge shoutout to my guy Ryan Turner ! He impressed me like crazy ! He bailed me out. I had a last minute deal on 4th of July weekend come up, I was the seller of a property with two houses on it, 4 days before closing I was told that the buyers lender wouldn’t finance the deal unless the 2nd dilapidated house was torn down. Never met Ryan just Facebook friends. He urged me to trust him he was capable; reliable and affordable even know he’s a bit younger. This guy showed up exactly when he said, ran into all kinds of bad surprises with the house, his machine broke. Did he call me and make excuses ? No, did he call and ask for more time than the 4 days ? No, did he call and ask for more money ? No, did he make excuses about hauling it off even with the dump being closed on the weekend ? No. He did exactly what he said, when he said for the price he said. And he helped get us to closing. He acted like a champion and found a way to win instead of excuses of why he couldn’t ! 💰🙌🤑🏆💯"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Installing a picket fence includes measuring and marking the area where you plan to build the fence, laying out all of the materials, digging post holes, setting the posts using concrete, measuring the rails, attaching the rails, attaching the pickets, and then painting or staining the fence if you chose a wooden fence material

Moisture and rot are the largest threat to wooden fences. Stain can help your wood fence last 15 to 20 years, but only if you choose a stain with waterproofing qualities or add a sealant. Oil-based stains create a thicker moisture barrier than water-based stains, though both are mold and mildew resistant. You’ll generally need to re-stain your fence every one to eight years to get full protection.

Glass has one of the longest lifespans of any fencing materials, lasting anywhere from 10 to 30 years on average. Just how long your glass fence lasts depends on several factors, including how well you maintain your fence, the climate, and the type of glass you use.

If you live somewhere with severe weather like hail, tornadoes, or hurricanes, expect your glass to have a shorter lifespan. Pool glass is one of the thickest tempered glass materials and may last longer than other options—especially compared to laminated glass.

The best wood for fence posts are redwood, cedar, and pressure-treated pine. Wood posts made from these materials will typically lasts between 15 and 30 years, depending on the specific type you choose and your local climate. With proper care and maintenance, a fence post made of these materials can withstand most weather conditions.

Pickets should sit at least 2 inches off the ground to encourage groundwater to flow underneath. Pickets can sit as much as 6 inches off the ground, but setting it any higher could let pets in or out of your yard unintentionally. These are not to be confused with the fence posts anchored underground with soil or concrete footing.
