"This was such a positive experience - I can't thank Robert and Manchester Electrical Contractors enough! I had several non-functioning outlets, light switches and overhead lights on the lower level of my house. Friends had spent at least 10 hrs trying to find the source of the problem. When yet another light failed, I contacted Manchester Electrical Contractors on Angie's List. Barry called me in less than 24 hrs to schedule the service. Robert arrived promptly, performed an electrical inspection and found the problem in just 2 hrs (a bad outlet with burned wire in an upstairs bedroom)! I was so impressed and happy, I had him fix more problems while he was here. In all, he replaced 2 bad outlets inside my house. In my garage, he replaced one bad light socket, a ballast in a fluorescent light fixture, and installed a new outlet. I believe the cost was reasonable and the service was excellent! I will definitely use them again and I highly recommend their services to others. My sincere thanks to Robert and Manchester Electrical Contractors!"

Exterior Lighting questions, answered by experts

Costs depend on system type, issue severity, and labor rates.

Professional repairs involve diagnosing issues, replacing components, rewiring, or repositioning fixtures to restore optimal performance.

While most general electricians can repair lamps and light fixtures, it is often better to hire a lamp repair specialist. Many electricians prefer larger jobs, such as fixing electrical systems or relocating fixtures, and may not offer lamp repair services due to the small scale of the work. Additionally, some lamps, particularly antique models, require dedicated expertise that a general electrician might not have. A lamp repair specialist will be familiar with various types of fixtures and can provide a more dedicated service. If you have already hired an electrician for a larger project, you can ask them to look at your lamp, but for a standalone repair, a specialist is typically the best option.

To maintain your outdoor lighting and prevent major issues, you should regularly clean the fixtures, inspect the wiring and connections, and replace worn or burnt-out bulbs promptly. These simple steps ensure consistent operation and extend the life of your lighting system.

Common outdoor lighting issues include faulty or exposed wiring, burnt-out or damaged bulbs, and broken or faulty fixtures. Regular maintenance can help prevent many of these problems.
