"Mark, and the other members of Carpenter's Kids exceeded every expectation. Ours was a complicated remodel that involved everything from installing new and moving old plumbing, tile work, new electric, moving a wall 2ft, to detail work. Carpenter's kids made short work of the entire project. They were 1 day over in their estimate, but they came MEMORIAL DAY to finish and were still ~2 weeks faster than all other quotes. The quality is impeccable, and the price more than fair. Whomever said you can have it fast, good, or cheap but you have to pick 2 out of 3 didn't know Mark, and his boys. We've already asked for 3 new estimates."

"I had an ornamental windmill that the wind blew down and damaged the 6 foot fan. James did an excellent job straightening the bent metal and rewelding some broken welds. He picked up my fan and took it to his shop in Springfield. I was surprised at how quickly he accomplished the task. He keep me updated by sending me pictures of his progress by phone. While not cheap, his prices were reasonable. I would use him again for a welding or metal straightening project."

"The work was substandard at best. I was deceived on the work that would be performed. I was told at the time of sales that the wood siding I had would be cut back and replaced with similar material. It was not. It was replaced with what appears to be a type of trim. I had originally called in because I wanted my house painted. They then only painted the siding and told me the trim would be extra after they had already started the job. At this point I felt like I was being held hostage to their demands. Since they had already started the job they would do what would normally cost over $2000 for around $1600. I elected not to have this additional work performed. I would have NEVER had them do any work had I known this from the beginning. There is caulk everywhere. Nothing was taped or masked. The paint lines are not straight or even. Sometimes they would paint the side of the trim the same color as the siding. In other places they wouldn't. They washed out their brushes with my house in my yard. One night they left the hose on. I asked them not to wash their brushes in my grass and one of them was rude about it. Do not recommend. The owner offered me $200 off for my troubles. I just wanted the job done right. This isn't it. A month later and I'm still waiting for them to come and touch up spots where they set their ladder against the wet paint and you can see marks on the siding because of it."

They smoothed and prepped the wall (plaster/lathe/wallpaper - difficult to work with) for me in areas not related to the lighting installation, knowing I’d be painting soon. Fast, friendly, and professional service. They were prepared with all supplies. They cleaned and organized the work space thoroughly before leaving every day they were there (2-3 days). They were responsive and straightforward throughout the project, gave helpful advice when I asked, and sought out ways to save me money. The transformation was major and i’m very happy with the results."

A to Z also converted our wood burning fireplace into an infrared electric fireplace and custom built trim to hold the new fireplace in the opening. My husband and I are elderly and the wood fireplace was of no use to us due to the physical aspects of carrying wood and cleaning ash. The electric fireplace is the perfect solution to add warmth while keeping the utility bills low! I know, "you get what you pay for" but there are lots of things to fix in this house so I have to stretch the budget. They responded immediately to my request for bid, had someone out right away for the estimate, and kept following up until we were able to agree on a date. They convinced me the quality of paint they selected was just fine, and it was. They did everything as agreed, and it turned out great. I also appreciate they took the job, as I know it wasn't the biggest job around."
