"Jeff showed up on time and did his work professionally. He recommended replacing 4 vent covers due to splitting or rotting and gave me an estimate for that. He was gentlemanly and well-informed, didn't try to upsell things that weren't needed. I was aware of the deteriorating vent flanges because I had recently had my chimney cover replaced and the pro who did that notified me of their condition. I felt like Mighty Hands did what they were contracted to do in a way that made me confident of their work."

"I did a lot of research on vinyl windows after being shell shocked by the Pella folks. So far we are very pleased. We purchased the low e, argon filled. We have south facing front windows and the sun heat coming through has been cut significantly i.e. the low E is working. Also the half screen is a great idea, as we used to just not have screens up and this arrangement works very well. The windows themselves operate perfectly and its nice to have something that works again. We put 2 casement over kitchen sink to replace 2 small double hung and these enhance the view and work great.
Now from the start. The sales man Michael came with a good demo and information of the product. He estimated 4-6 weeks and they were installed on the 6th week.
The installers came on time and the lead guy was great. They remove the molding on the inside and pull out the exisiting window. We did not realize that you lose about 3 inches width of window (glass) on every opening. This is true for any replacement window, no matter what the brand. It's no biggie, but good to know.
Two things the installers need to do well.
Remove the existing molding without destroying it
Know how to caulk....this is very impt.
You need to repaint inside molding, so be prepared to do this.
The lead guy did a fantatstic job of removing molding, leveling window and caulking inside. The helper was/is learning and is a work in progress.
It took a full day 9:15 to 5:30, to install everything.
The sales form indicated windows would be cleaned as part of install and these guys were not aware of that and had nothing to clean them with. I was in a rush to leave house and did not make them do it. In retrospect, I should have held the payment and had them clean the windows after I was gone or have them come back next day.
Dealing with any contractor always involves some give and take, so as indicated in the rating, we are overall very happy..

"I am ver pleased with my sunrrom, it looks exactly like we planned and was finished on time. I had some additional work done by them and they were very good about cleaning up everyday, showing up when they planned and completing each phase as promised. The materials are top of the line and overall they have been a pleasure to have working on my home."

Patio Covers questions, answered by experts

Hurricane fabric is a temporary form of hurricane protection that offers an alternative to boarding up windows or installing traditional storm panels. Unlike hurricane screens, which are permanently attached to your home, hurricane fabric is installed over your windows and other openings before a storm.

In terms of effectiveness, hurricane fabric is tested and proven to protect homes from Category 5 hurricanes, which can have winds over 157 miles per hour. When installed properly, it is designed to block the majority of wind and rain and protect against water, debris, and projectile damage.

While the fabric is exceptionally durable, windows can still break if hit directly by flying debris at high velocity. However, it is a good protective measure against an impending storm. For comparison, hurricane fabric is more protective and durable than hurricane window film. While boarding up windows is easier than installing the fabric, it is more labor-intensive and requires storing heavy plywood.

To further increase the chances of your windows surviving a hurricane, you can take additional steps like securing outdoor items, elevating HVAC units, and fortifying your home's foundation.

The least expensive way to enclose a porch is with screens. These protect the room by preventing insects from entering and, if you live in a warm climate, provide excellent airflow during hot summer months. Screens cost far less than any other alternative, so if you are against getting permits, spending too much, or enclosing your porch in walls or glass, screens are the best choice.

You can start your search for a reputable patio company by finding providers in your area with positive ratings online and few, if any, complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Once you narrow down your search, contact the companies and ask for examples of their past work, as well as a list of references. The examples will show you the quality of the work you can expect and how professional the finished product will be, and contacting previous customers will give you an idea of the service you can expect throughout the process.

There are many materials to choose from, including picket fencing, wood slats, galvanized metal skirting, dog-ear fence panels, scallop wood fence panels, bamboo screens, and other decorative screens. You can search for materials at local big box stores like Home Depot or scour online home improvement sites. Good search terms to use are fencing, skirting, and privacy panels.

Acrylic, polyester, and vinyl are common options. Choose based on durability, UV resistance, and style.
