"Joe has done painting and fixes for three of my houses and I will call him for any future projects, interior and exterior. He is meticulous and reliable. I’ll attach a few pictures of projects he has done for me over the last few years if this section allows."

Customers say: Quality work

"Our bathroom update turned out so well. They put in new surround for the tub, updated all the faucets for the tub and basin, new countertop with basin, painted all the walls and vanity, new flooring, took down popcorn ceiling and put nice clean ceiling, hung a new cabinet with mirror and lighting, hung new towel rods..... no part of that bathroom was overlooked. The transformation from old to new is amazing. They cleaned up everything, nothing left for me but to enjoy the nice, fresh, new room."

"We have used him for 4 projects. 3 were small and one was significant, including wall demolition/repair and repairing some floor joists. For all of these projects, he was consistently punctual, efficient, and charged a fair price. He has creative ideas, and a customer-first approach."

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

The list of what removes caulk residue includes rubbing alcohol. In some cases, rubbing alcohol can also help remove water-based caulk. However, old caulk or caulk that’s in layers from years of upkeep and projects might prove to be too much for simple rubbing alcohol and may require a caulk-removing solution from a home improvement store.

Yes, you can technically use a pressure washer to remove paint from brick, but it comes with a significant risk of damaging the brick surface. A high-power pressure washer can be fast but may leave the brick looking unsightly. The recommended method is to first apply a chemical paint stripper, following the product's instructions, and then use a stiff metal bristle brush or a pressure washer on a low-pressure setting to remove the loosened paint. Due to the risk of damage, it is often best to hire a professional who can use low-stress methods.

To remove painted-over hinges for replacement or paint removal, you should use a utility knife to score around the edges of the hinges gently. Work very carefully so as not to damage the surrounding area. From there, you can unscrew the hinges and gently pry them off the door, making sure not to bend the metal.

You can paint over lead paint, or “encapsulate” it with a special paint that includes an ingredient called an encapsulant. The EPA approves encapsulation as a lead paint removal method as long as the paint remains undisturbed. Standard types of paint without an “encapsulant” from the big box stores or hardware stores do not meet EPA standards for remediation of lead-based paint.

The best way to remove lead paint is by wet hand sanding and removing all dust and residue with a HEPA vacuum. Professionals may also strip and scrape lead-based paint with a paint scraper. In some cases, you may choose to have a pro encapsulate or enclose your lead-based paint surface by covering it with a sealant or a new material. You may also choose to replace the material altogether.
