"The problem turned out to be a burned out small electric door switch. I believe the price was way too expensive for the service performed and the price of the door switch. What more can I say? It got done."

"I have not received a statement for work performed as of 12/4/2019 however I was quite satisfied with suggestions the Technician gave to me in order to avoid a costly service call. Also was quick to respond when I made the service call on a Sunday afternoon. Service was performed on Wednesday and I was well pleased. Ed Green Springfield Il"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

If you've ever tried to run your dishwasher while drying your hair, you’ll understand why dedicated circuits are essential for preventing blown fuses. Appliances that require more electricity than the circuit can handle could blow fuses, trip breakers, overheat, and risk an electrical fire.

Having a dedicated circuit ensures that your appliance gets the current it needs without overloading the other circuits in your home.

Yes, splicing wires can cause a fire if the splicing is done incorrectly. This is why splicing wires is a task best handled by electricians. One of the most common mistakes made when splicing wires is not using a wire connector. Without a wire connector, electricity flows unsheathed and can result in a home electrical fire.

Durations range from an hour for simple jobs to full workdays for significant upgrades.

If you encounter any issues or feel unsure about your abilities, stop immediately and contact a licensed electrician for help. It's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to electrical work, as mistakes during the wiring process can be hazardous to your home and personal safety.

Yes, an electrical fire can start even if nothing is plugged into an outlet. While a correctly functioning outlet poses no risk, a fire can be caused by faulty wiring, damaged outlet components, an overloaded circuit, or other electrical problems hidden behind the walls. If you suspect a fault, immediately turn off the circuit breaker and contact a professional electrician to diagnose and repair the issue.
